  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Sets career highs in points, boards

Claxton recorded 24 points (9-13 FG, 6-15 FT), 15 rebounds, three blocks and one steal over 36 minutes during Sunday's 120-116 victory over the Warriors. The 24 points and 15 rebounds were new career highs for Claxton, whose stellar production in the counting categories made it easy for fantasy managers to deal with his horrid free-throw shooting on high volume. Managers who drafted Claxton with the understanding that he would be toxic in the free-throw percentage category couldn't be more pleased with the young center's output of late. He's recorded at least three blocks in an astounding 12 straight games and is averaging 14.9 points and 9.3 rebounds while shooting 72.2 percent from the field during that stretch.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Goes for season-high 20 points

Claxton ended Thursday's 117-112 loss to the Suns with 20 points (9-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-6 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one steal across 35 minutes. In addition to compiling his season-best scoring effort, Claxton added 11 boards to give him his 14th double-double of the campaign and added plenty of supporting stats in the other columns as well. The big man has notched three straight double-doubles and four in the last five as he continues his breakout campaign in 2022-23. Claxton's rim-protecting efforts alone make him worthy of starting in many formats, but his current binge of scoring has heightened his fantasy status, especially among centers.

Claxton finished with 15 points (7-11 FG, 1-1 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists, four blocks and one steal in 28 minutes during Tuesday's 106-98 loss to the Spurs. As per usual, however, the main takeaway from Claxton's line was his continued efficiency and shot blocking. He's recorded no fewer than three blocks in any of his last nine outings and is shooting 70.3 percent from the field during that stretch.

The big man has emerged as a key piece for the Nets on both ends of the court, and while he's not going to carry the team offensively on any given game, his two-way contributions make him a valuable fantasy asset. He averaged 12.5 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game in December.
