  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Two long catches and TD in Week 7

Cooper caught all five of his targets for 115 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-25 loss to the Dolphins. Cooper topped 100 receiving yards with a TD for the second time in as many games since returning from an ankle injury sustained in his regular-season debut. The rookie 30th overall pick had a 52-yard catch in the first quarter and a 60-yard catch in the third, then added a three-yard touchdown reception three plays after the second long catch. Cooper has been a big-play machine when healthy, and he'll look to build on his strong start in Week 8 against the Raiders.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper Jr.: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

It might be hard for Garrett Wilson and Cooper to both play well in Week 7 against Miami since the Dolphins have only allowed three receivers all season to score at least 11.3 PPR points. That's not because Miami has a dominant secondary, but rather because teams run all over the Dolphins. That said, I'm willing to gamble on Cooper as a starter in three-receiver leagues (Wilson remains a must-start Fantasy option) since the rookie just had six catches for 103 yards and a touchdown on seven targets in Week 6 at New England. Geno Smith will hopefully continue to feature Cooper, and he has the potential to perform well against what has statistically been a stingy Miami secondary so far.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Could be set for lesser role

Cooper may get fewer looks in the passing game Sunday versus Miami with Adonai Mitchell cleared to return from a finger injury, Amanda Vogt of the Jets' official site reports. Cooper shined in his return from IR this past Sunday against New England, catching six of seven targets for 103 yards and a touchdown. That performance will likely gain him more attention from QB Geno Smith moving forward, but it must also be noted that Cooper's big game came in the absence of Mitchell, who is set to return Sunday following a four-game absence. Both Cooper and Mitchell are likely to remain behind Garrett Wilson in the pecking order, but it will be interesting to see if either Cooper or Mitchell is able to separate himself as the team's No. 2 wideout.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper Jr.: Week 7 Waiver Priority List

Cooper returned from a four-game absence with an ankle injury in Week 6 at New England and made his presence felt with six catches for 103 yards and a touchdown on seven targets. He had another touchdown negated by a penalty, and this was impressive from the first-round pick out of Indiana. Now, keep in mind that Garrett Wilson had a down game against the Patriots due to tight coverage from Christian Gonzalez, and Adonai Mitchell (finger) was out. That said, Cooper clearly has the talent to be a productive Fantasy receiver, and he should be added in all leagues for at least 15 percent of your remaining FAAB. I would start him in all three-receiver leagues in Week 7 against Miami.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Paces air attack in return

Cooper brought in six of seven targets for 103 yards and a touchdown in the Jets' 26-19 loss to the Patriots on Sunday. Making his return from a four-game stint on injured reserve due to an ankle sprain suffered on the opening possession of the season, Cooper hit the ground running and finished as the team leader in receptions, receiving yards and targets. The Indiana product also recorded his first NFL touchdown on a 48-yard strike from Geno Smith early in the third quarter, and his instant production despite the layoff gives his fantasy outlook a significant boost heading into a Week 7 home matchup against the Dolphins.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Returning to action Week 6

Cooper (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Cooper will suit up for the first time since Week 1, when he sustained a high-ankle sprain on the Jets' first offensive possession of the season in an eventual win over the Titans. The rookie first-round pick out of Indiana returned to practice this week, turning in a pair of limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday before upgrading to full participation Friday and getting activated from injured reserve Saturday. With Adonai Mitchell (finger) out for another week, Cooper could potentially settle in as the Jets' No. 2 receiver Sunday, pushing Tim Patrick down a spot on the depth chart.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Activated from IR

Cooper (ankle) was activated from injured reserve Saturday. Cooper is still listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots, but he's likely to be cleared to play given his activation from IR. The rookie fourth-rounder has missed the Jets' last four games due to an ankle injury, but he could be thrust into a prominent role offensively given the absence of Adonai Mitchell (finger).

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Set to be activated off IR

Cooper (ankle) is being activated from injured reserve Saturday and is expected to be available for Sunday's AFC East tilt against the Patriots, Connor Hughes of SNY TV reports. Cooper earned the questionable tag for Week 6 after logging a full practice Friday, and it looks like the rookie first-rounder will be back on the field after spending the last four weeks on injured reserve due to an ankle injury he sustained against the Titans in Week 1. With Adonai Mitchell (finger) sidelined, Cooper could slide into the Jets' WR2 role behind Garrett Wilson for Sunday's contest.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Questionable for Week 6

Cooper (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at New England. Cooper was a full practice participant Friday, upgrading from limited participation the previous two days. That doesn't necessarily mean he'll play, though the Jets definitely could use the help with Adonai Mitchell (finger) out for another week. They'll need to activate Cooper from injured reserve Friday or Saturday to have him available for Sunday's game against the Patriots at 1:00 p.m. ET.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Will practice fully Friday

Cooper (ankle) will be a full participant in Friday's practice, according to the Jets' official X account. After logging limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, the rookie's upgrade to full participation is a positive step in his return from injured reserve. The Jets would need to activate Cooper on Friday or Saturday in order to have him available for Sunday's game at New England. It's not yet clear if the team intends to do that.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Limited in return to practice

Cooper (ankle) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. After being designated for return from injured reserve earlier Wednesday, Cooper operated with a cap on his reps in his first practice since he exited the Jets' Week 1 win over the Titans due to a high-ankle sprain. The Jets haven't ruled out the possibility of the rookie first-round pick being activated from IR in advance of Sunday's game against the Patriots, but he'll likely need to practice fully Thursday and/or Friday to have a realistic chance at suiting up this weekend.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Officially on injured reserve

The Jets placed Cooper (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday, Amanda Vogt of the team's official site reports. Cooper thus will miss at least the next four games after he suffered a sprained ankle in his pro debut this past Sunday in Tennessee. His next chance for game action will be a Week 6 road matchup with the Patriots on Sunday, Oct. 18, and in the meantime, the Jets will operate with a receiving corps composed of Garrett Wilson, Adonai Mitchell, Isaiah Williams and Arian Smith.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: To be placed on injured reserve

The Jets are expected to place Cooper (ankle) on injured reserve, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Cooper suffered a sprained ankle early on in his pro debut this past Sunday at Tennessee that left him week-to-week. He predictably didn't practice during Week 2 prep and then was ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Packers. Once he's officially on injured reserve, Cooper will need to miss at least the next four games, at which point New York will be able to designate him for return from IR. In the meantime, Isaiah Williams figures to take on a bigger role behind Garrett Williams and Adonai Mitchell.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Ruled out for Week 2

Cooper (ankle) will not play Sunday against the Packers, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. It was reported earlier this week that Cooper was week-to-week with the ankle injury he sustained in Week 1, so it comes as little surprise that he will sit out his team's second game of the season. Isaiah Williams is the favorite to pick up extra snaps in Cooper's absence.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Sidelined in practice as expected

Cooper (ankle) didn't practice Thursday after also missing Wednesdays practice. Cooper's inability to practice is no surprise considering he's expected to miss multiple weeks due to an ankle sprain he sustained in the Jets' Week 1 win over the Titans. Prior to getting hurt in the first quarter of his NFL debut, the rookie first-round pick had a 30-yard catch and run. Expect Cooper to be ruled out for Sunday's game against the Packers when the Jets release game statuses Friday.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Considered week-to-week

Cooper (ankle) is "week-to-week," and the hope is he returns "within the next four weeks," Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Cooper underwent an MRI after spraining his ankle in Sunday's victory over the Titans, and per the report he received "positive news" and could be back at some point in the next month. Isaiah Williams picked up the bulk of the work in Cooper's place in Week 1, and he figures to see extra snaps until the rookie first-round pick is ready to return.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Reportedly has ankle sprain

Cooper is dealing with an ankle sprain after exiting in the first quarter of Sunday's 23-10 win over the Titans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Cooper was ruled out due to an ankle injury after the opening drive, during which the rookie first-round pick contributed a 30-yard catch. X-rays on the injury came back negative Sunday, but Cooper is set for an MRI on his sprained ankle, which should help clarify his potential return timeline. Tom Pelissero of Netflix reports that Cooper is believed to have suffered a high-ankle sprain, which is typically associated with a multi-week recovery period.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Listed as second-teamer on depth chart

Cooper is listed as a backup wide receiver on the Jets' unofficial depth chart. Cooper served as one of QB Fernando Mendoza's top targets at Indiana last season, finishing with a 69-937-13 line in 16 games. After turning in a 4.42 40 time at the NFL Combine, his prospect profile was enough for the Jets to use the 30th overall pick on him in the 2026 NFL Draft. Joining a receiving corps already boasting Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell, Cooper wasn't destined for more than the No. 3 WR role in the offense, but he worked behind even Isaiah Williams in three-wide sets during training camp, and his current depth-chart slotting indicates he still has work to do to earn significant reps in New York's passing game.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Remains outside team's top-three WRs

Cooper caught his only target for nine yards in Friday's 17-0 preseason win over the Steelers. Cooper's lone catch came on a pass from fellow rookie Cade Klubnik in the two-minute drill to end the first half, with the Jets' second-string offense in the game. The rookie first-round pick out of Indiana has yet to work his way ahead of slot receiver Isaiah Williams, while Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell appear entrenched as the team's top two wide receivers until further notice. Cooper's likely to feature in next Friday's preseason finale against the Giants, even if the Jets rest their veteran starters.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Solidifying spot in three-wide sets

Cooper was the Jets' most impressive rookie in spring practices and looks to have solidified his spot in three-receiver sets, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. The Jets traded up into the first round to draft Cooper 30th overall. The versatile rookie out of Indiana played both on the outside and in the slot in college, which should help Cooper get on the field consistently alongside Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell. Per Geoffrey A. Knox of USA Today Jets Wire, Mitchell and slot receiver option Isaiah Williams were two of the Jets' top performers during the offseason program, so Cooper will need to continue building on his strong spring to secure playing time. That being said, Cimini expects Cooper's physical playing style to help the rookie shine even more once the pads come on in training camp.
