Eric Lauer TOR SP
Blue Jays' Eric Lauer: Punished early Monday
11m agoLauer (1-4) took the loss Monday against the Rays, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out two over 4.1 innings.
Lauer struggled out of the gate, giving up all three of his runs in the first inning before recording an out, via a three-run homer from Ryan Vilade. He settled in nicely after that, retiring 13 of the next 16 batters, but the early damage proved too much for Toronto to overcome. Lauer has yet to pitch deep into games this season, topping 90 pitches just once and still without a start of six innings or more. He now owns a 6.03 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 22:14 K:BB across 31.1 innings and is scheduled to face the Angels next.

Kyle Tucker LAD RF
Dodgers' Kyle Tucker: Slugs fourth homer
14m agoTucker went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Monday's 8-3 victory over the Astros.
Tucker opened the third inning with a bang, crushing a Ryan Weiss fastball over the right-field fence for a solo homer. It marked the outfielder's fourth long ball of the season and first since April 18, snapping a 13-game drought. Through 34 games in his first season with the Dodgers, Tucker is hitting a modest .242/.325/.386, though he has still been a solid run producer with 18 RBI, good for third on the club, while his 24 runs are tied for the team lead with Max Muncy.
-
Alex Freeland LAD SS
Dodgers' Alex Freeland: Pops second homer in win
23m agoFreeland went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Monday's 8-3 win over Houston.
Freeland took advantage of Houston's short porch in left field, swatting an opposite-field solo homer in the second inning. It marked his second long ball and second three-hit effort of the campaign. The 24-year-old has seen increased opportunities with Mookie Betts (oblique) and Tommy Edman (ankle) sidelined, producing at a .256/.316/.372 clip with two homers, four doubles, seven RBI and 10 runs across 29 appearances.
-
Nick Martinez TB RP
Rays' Nick Martinez: Limits Toronto during win
27m agoMartinez (3-1) earned the win Monday against the Blue Jays, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out four over five innings.
Martinez continued his efficient run, throwing 51 of 71 pitches for strikes and consistently working ahead in counts. The right-hander has now held opponents to two runs or fewer in all seven of his starts this season, resulting in a strong 1.71 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. The one drawback has been his lack of swing-and-miss, as he's recorded just 28 strikeouts over 42 innings and his lowest strikeout rate since 2017. Martinez set to take the mound against Boston in his next outing.
-
Jazz Chisholm NYY 2B
Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Swipes two bags Monday
28m agoChisholm went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs and two stolen bases in a 12-1 win over Baltimore on Monday.
Chisholm reached twice and stole a base before coming around to score in both instances. He has exactly one hit and one walk in each of his past four contests, though his steals Monday were his first during that span. Chisholm has run hot and cold this season, and he's managed just a .213/.302/.328 slash line with three homers, 12 RBI and 16 runs through 34 games. However, he's at least given his fantasy managers a boost in the stolen-base department with 11 thefts on 13 attempts.
-
Ryan Weiss HOU SP
Astros' Ryan Weiss: Surrenders sevens runs in loss
32m agoWeiss (0-3) took the loss in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Dodgers. He allowed seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and four walks while striking out five over 4.1 innings.
Entering after opener Steven Okert recorded two outs, Weiss struggled in bulk relief as the Dodgers lineup did significant damage. The 29-year-old has yet to find his footing in 2026, allowing runs in seven of his nine appearances this season. With a 7.62 ERA and 2.12 WHIP across 26 innings, Weiss will likely continue to operate in a long-relief role and will need to turn things around quickly to keep his spot on the roster secure.
-
Ivan Herrera STL C
Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Drives in three runs Monday
1h agoHerrera went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Monday's 6-3 win over the Brewers.
Herrera delivered a key swing for the Cardinals, drilling a bases-clearing double with the bases loaded in the fourth inning to give his team an early 4-0 advantage. The 25-year-old has logged multiple hits in three of his past six appearances and has been a steady on-base threat in 2026, slashing .256/.416/.424 with four homers, nine doubles, 17 RBI, 21 runs and a stolen base across 35 games.

Yainer Diaz HOU C
Astros' Yainer Diaz: Will require IL stint
4h agoDiaz is expected to be placed on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique injury, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Diaz was scratched from Monday's starting lineup with what was reported to be a left abdominal injury, and manager Joe Espada added after the game that the backstop will miss some time due to an oblique issue. Christian Vazquez can be expected to serve as the primary catcher while Diaz recovers.
-
Shea Langeliers ATH C
Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Lands on paternity list
5h agoLangeliers was placed on the paternity list Monday.
Langeliers was away from the team for Sunday's matchup and will now miss the next 1-to-3 days after being placed on the paternity list. Austin Wynns is expected to handle the catching duties until Langeliers returns, though the Athletics also landed Jonah Heim in a trade from Atlanta on Monday, so Heim could factor into the mix if he's elevated to the big-league roster.
-
Jonah Heim ATH C
Athletics' Jonah Heim: Dealt to Athletics
5h agoHeim was traded from Atlanta to the Athletics on Monday in exchange for cash considerations, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Heim was designated for assignment by Atlanta earlier in the day Monday, but instead of sending the veteran backstop to the waiver wire, the club was able to work out a deal with the A's. Heim slashed .231/.311/.410 with one home run, eight RBI and four runs scored in 12 games for Atlanta before being booted from the 40-man roster.
-
Patrick Bailey SF C
Giants' Patrick Bailey: Sitting Monday
7h agoBailey is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Padres on Monday.
Bailey will ride the pine for a second consecutive game, only this time it'll be Jesus Rodriguez who will serve behind home plate and bat eighth in his major-league debut. Bailey has slashed .159/.221/.206 with two steals, one home run, four RBI and a 5:16 BB:K across 68 plate appearances since April 1.
-
Cesar Salazar HOU C
Astros' Cesar Salazar: Back in big leagues
8h agoSalazar had his contract selected from Triple-A Sugar Land before Monday's game against the Dodgers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Salazar was promoted a few hours before first pitch after it was announced that Yainer Diaz was scratched with an abdominal injury. Salazar will serve as the backup catcher to Christian Vazquez on Monday.

Munetaka Murakami CHW 1B
White Sox's Munetaka Murakami: Keeps pace in MLB homer race
2h agoMurakami went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double, a walk and three total runs scored in a 6-0 win over the Angels on Monday.
Murakami tied his season high with three hits, the loudest of which was a two-run blast off Jose Soriano in the fourth inning. That long ball put the Japanese slugger back into a tie for the MLB home run lead with Aaron Judge, who hit his 14th home run earlier in the evening. Remarkably, Murakami's sixth-inning double was his first non-homer extra-base hit of the season; in fact, 14 of his 30 total knocks have left the park. While he's tied for fifth in the league with 50 strikeouts, Murakami is also sixth with 28 walks and is up to a .961 OPS, which is the ninth-best mark in MLB.
-
Bryce Eldridge SF 1B
Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Starting Monday as DH
8h agoEldridge is serving as the Giants' designated hitter and batting seventh against the Padres on Monday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Eldridge was recalled by the Giants from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, and the 21-year-old will immediately slide into the starting lineup for the series opener. He has a .963 OPS with five homers and 22 RBI in 137 plate appearances in the minors this season, and he will look for better results in his second stint in the majors after logging a .476 OPS in 37 plate appearances in 2025.
-
Bryce Eldridge SF 1B
Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Officially promoted by Giants
8h agoThe Giants recalled Eldridge from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.
As expected, the 21-year-old Eldridge will join the Giants for the start of their six-game homestand Monday. He was unable to make the team's Opening Day roster, but a return to the majors seemed inevitable after he dominated at the plate in Triple-A with a .333/.445/.518 slash line with five home runs and 22 RBI in 137 plate appearances. Eldridge will look to do better in his second stint in the majors after going 3-for-28 (.107) with four RBI and 13 strikeouts across 10 regular-season games in 2025.
-
Dustin Harris HOU 1B
Astros' Dustin Harris: Taking seat Monday
9h agoHarris is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.
After starting each of the Astros' previous seven games and going 7-for-22 (.318 average) with two stolen bases, four RBI and two runs, Harris will head to the bench as Houston begins a three-game series with the Dodgers. Harris could be at risk of fading into more of a part-time role in the Houston outfield after the Astros recalled Zach Cole (toe) from Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday. Cole will replace Harris in the lineup Monday, manning left field while batting eighth.
-
Kyle Manzardo CLE 1B
Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Heading to bench Monday
9h agoManzardo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.
Manzardo typically starts against right-handed pitchers, but he'll hit the bench for the series opener in Kansas City while Michael Wacha toes the rubber for the Royals. The Guardians will go with Rhys Hoskins at first base in place of Manzardo, who has followed up his 27-homer 2025 regular season with just two long balls through his first 31 games of 2026.
-
Andrew Vaughn MIL 1B
Brewers' Andrew Vaughn: Making return from IL
11h agoThe Brewers reinstated Vaughn (hand) from the 10-day injured list Monday. He'll start at designated hitter and bat sixth in Monday's game in St. Louis.
Vaughn will be available to play for the Brewers for the first time since Opening Day, when he made an early exit from Milwaukee's 14-2 win over the White Sox after fracturing the hamate bone in left hand when he was hit by a pitch. He underwent surgery days later and was held out of action for about a month before completing a three-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville last week. Now that he's back from the IL, Vaughn will likely settle back into a near-everyday role while moving between DH and first base.
-
Jazz Chisholm NYY 2B
-
Brice Turang MIL 2B
Brewers' Brice Turang: Blasts two-run homer in loss
1h agoTurang went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Cardinals.
Turang did his part in sparking a comeback, blasting a two-run homer in the ninth inning to cut the deficit to three. It marked his fifth long ball and fourth three-hit effort of the year, as the second baseman has carried over his breakout 2025 campaign into a hot start to 2026. Through 31 games, the 26-year-old is hitting .304 with a .956 OPS, cementing himself as one of the most consistent and productive hitters in the Brewers lineup.
-
Miguel Vargas CHW 2B
White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Goes deep in victory
2h agoVargas went 2-for-5 with a solo home run against the Angels in a 6-0 win Monday.
Vargas gave Chicago a 5-0 lead with a solo blast in the fourth inning. He added a single for his first multi-hit game since April 24, though Vargas has recorded at least one hit in 13 of his past 14 contests. His bat has come alive over that period, as Vargas is hitting .333 (17-for-51) with five long balls, 10 RBI, 12 runs, two stolen bases and a 12:11 BB:K over that 14-game stretch.

Gleyber Torres DET 2B
Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Still battling side injury
5h agoTorres (side) wasn't available to pinch hit Monday against the Red Sox, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
This update indicates that Torres is still being bothered by his left side injury, and it seems as though a trip to the injured list is very much on the table at this juncture. Skipper A.J. Hinch was hopeful that Torres may be able to pinch hit late in Monday's matchup, but Hinch noted after the game that the 29-year-old wasn't feeling healthy enough for an at-bat. Given this information, it's unlikely that Torres will be back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game.

Tommy Edman LAD 2B
Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Rehab paused due to soreness
8h agoEdman has been backed off his rehab a bit after feeling residual soreness in his surgically repaired right ankle, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
The soreness isn't necessarily unexpected as Edman ramps up his rehab, but it will delay him a bit. The Dodgers have not revealed a timetable for Edman's season debut, but it now seems unlikely that he will make it back before the end of May.
-
Ha-seong Kim ATL 2B
Braves' Ha-Seong Kim: Moving rehab to Triple-A
9h agoKim (finger) is moving his rehab assignment from Double-A Columbus to Triple-A Gwinnett this week, Lindsay Crosby of BravesToday.com reports.
Kim embarked on his rehab assignment in late April and is taking the next step in his recovery from surgery he underwent in January to repair a torn tendon in his right middle finger. He went 3-for-9 with four walks, one steal and three runs scored across four outings in Double-A and will likely need a few outings in Triple-A before being cleared to return to the majors. Mauricio Dubon should continue to hold down the fort at shortstop until Kim is back with Atlanta.
-
Austin Riley ATL 3B
Braves' Austin Riley: Slams homer Monday
1h agoRiley went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Mariners on Monday.
Riley belted the fourth of Atlanta's four solo homers in the game, but the team was unable to get in the scoring column otherwise. The long ball was Riley's second in his past three contests following a 13-game homerless stretch. The veteran third baseman is batting just .213 on the season, but he may be coming around at the plate, as he's gone 6-for-15 with five RBI over his past four contests.
-
Matt Chapman SF 3B
Giants' Matt Chapman: Not in Monday's lineup
8h agoChapman is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Padres on Monday.
Chapman has gone 0-for-16 with two walks and seven strikeouts over his last four games, so he'll take a break and begin Monday's game on the bench. Casey Schmitt will start at the hot corner and bat second in the series opener against San Diego.

Tanner Murray CHW 3B
White Sox's Tanner Murray: Moved to 60-day IL
9h agoThe White Sox transferred Murray (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Monday.
The move opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for Randal Grichuk, who signed a one-year major-league deal with the White Sox on Monday. Murray suffered a left shoulder dislocation and fracture while making a diving catch in left field against the Nationals in late April. His recovery timeline was initially set at 4-to-6 months, which means he won't be available to return until at least late August.
-
Eugenio Suarez CIN 3B
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Upping workouts Monday
10h agoSuarez (oblique) will take grounders on the field and flips in the batting cage Monday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.
Suarez's recovery from a left oblique strain has come along more slowly than expected, but he's ready to start ramping up baseball-related drills. He'll get another MRI later this week when the Reds return home in order to check his progress. Suarez should be ready to rejoin the Reds' active roster by mid-May if all goes well.
-
Coby Mayo BAL 3B
Orioles' Coby Mayo: Exiting starting nine Monday
11h agoMayo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Jeremiah Jackson will step in at third base in place of Mayo, who will hit the bench after going 1-for-16 with a 0:7 BB:K over his last six games. The young infielder has already endured multiple lulls in production less than two months into the season and is slashing just .165/.234/.306 while striking out at a 29.8 percent clip over 94 plate appearances. Once the Orioles get the likes of Jackson Holliday (hand) and Jordan Westburg (elbow) back from the injured list, Mayo will be in danger of moving into more of a part-time role, if Baltimore doesn't option him to Triple-A Norfolk.
-
Zach McKinstry DET 3B
Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Could be activated Tuesday
12h agoMcKinstry (hip) has rejoined the Tigers in Detroit and could be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game versus the Red Sox, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
McKinstry is 1-for-11 with a home run in his first three rehab contests. He will go through a workout Monday before the Tigers decide whether McKinstry is ready to be activated Tuesday or needs another rehab game or two. The super utility player has missed more than two weeks with left hip/abdominal inflammation.

-
Jackson Merrill SD SS
Padres' Jackson Merrill: Snaps homer drought Monday
45m agoMerrill went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Giants on Monday.
Merrill got San Diego off to a good start with a solo blast in the first inning, but the Padres weren't able to score again until the ninth frame. The long ball was likely a sigh of relief for fantasy managers who endured the outfielder's 16-game homerless stretch. Merrill has contributed six stolen bases on the season, but he's otherwise been pretty disappointing on offense, posting a .220/.283/.362 slash line with four homers, 16 RBI and 20 runs through 33 games.
-
Shay Whitcomb HOU SS
Astros' Shay Whitcomb: Sent to minors
8h agoWhitcomb was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
The Astros needed to promote a catcher ahead of Monday's game against the Dodgers after Yainer Diaz (abdomen) was a late scratch, and Whitcomb will end up being the roster casualty. Whitcomb has struggled to a .077 average with one home run, three RBI and one run scored through 10 games this season.

Enrique Hernandez LAD SS
Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Rehab assignment this week
8h agoHernandez (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment this week, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Hernandez is working his way back from surgery on his left (non-throwing) elbow. Once he does make it back, Hernandez will be deployed by the Dodgers against left-handed pitching.
-
Jeremy Pena HOU SS
Astros' Jeremy Pena: Nearing rehab assignment
9h agoPena (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment this weekend, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Pena has been shelved since mid-April with a Grade 1 right hamstring strain but appears nearly ready to test things out in a game setting. Since his absence has been relatively brief, Pena should not require too many rehab at-bats before returning to the Astros' active roster.

Addison Barger TOR SS
Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Expected back this week
10h agoBlue Jays manager John Schneider said Monday that Barger (ankles) being activated from the 10-day injured list on Friday would be a "worst-case scenario,"Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Barger slugged a home run in his first rehab game with Single-A Dunedin on Sunday and will suit up for the affiliate once again Tuesday. He could rejoin the Blue Jays after that and be activated as soon as Wednesday, but a return Friday for the start of a homestand seems likelier. Barger has been sidelined since early April after spraining both of his ankles.

Dodgers' Kyle Tucker: Slugs fourth homer

It marked the outfielder's fourth long ball of the season and first since April 18, snapping a 13-game drought. Through 34 games in his first season with the Dodgers, Tucker is hitting a modest .242/.325/.386, though he has still been a solid run producer with 18 RBI, good for third on the club, while his 24 runs are tied for the team lead with Max Muncy.

Ramon Laureano SD RF
Padres' Ramon Laureano: Slugs homer in loss
39m agoLaureano went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to San Francisco on Monday.
Laureano was hitless until the ninth inning, when he crushed a 447-foot solo shot to bring the Padres to within a run. The long ball ended a 16-game homerless stretch for the veteran outfielder, who also struck out 27 times over 70 plate appearances during that stretch. Laureano -- like many of his teammates -- has been mostly quiet at the plate so far this season, posting a .238/.301/.426 slash line with five homers, 19 RBI, 16 runs and four stolen bases through 32 contests.
-
Luke Raley SEA RF
Mariners' Luke Raley: Belts big three-run blast
1h agoRaley went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run and a walk Monday in a 5-4 win against Atlanta.
Seattle was unable to break through against Atlanta rookie JR Ritchie until the sixth frame, when Raley came through with a three-run homer. The blast turned a four-run deficit into a one-run deficit, and the Mariners scored twice more in the inning to complete the comeback. The homer was a much-needed big hit for Raley, who entered Monday in a 2-for-30 tailspin with 13 strikeouts over his previous 14 contests. He's slashing .253/.313/.516 with six homers, 16 RBI and 12 runs through 99 plate appearances on the campaign.

Jackson Chourio MIL CF
Brewers' Jackson Chourio: Four-hit effort in return
1h agoChourio (hand) went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and a walk in Monday's 6-3 loss to St. Louis.
In his first big-league game of the season, Chourio reached base in all five of his plate appearances, including a pair of doubles. The outfielder, who opened the season on the injured list due to a fracture in his left hand, showed no signs of rust, as his lowest exit velocity checked in at 102.8 mph. Coming off a 2025 campaign in which he posted a .771 OPS with 21 homers, 35 doubles, four triples, 78 RBI, 88 runs and 21 stolen bases across 131 regular-season appearances, the 22-year-old will look to take another step forward in 2026.

Jarren Duran BOS CF
Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Homers again Monday

After Boston was held quiet early by Ty Madden, Duran flipped the game with one swing, launching a three-run homer off Ricky Vanasco in the seventh inning to give the Red Sox the lead. The blast was his fourth of the season and third in his last four games. The outfielder also added his sixth stolen base of the year, continuing to contribute on the bases. Despite the recent production, Duran's overall line remains dull, as he's now slashing .203/.260/.347 with 18 RBI across 127 plate appearances.

-
Ryan Weiss HOU SP
-
Yoshinobu Yamamoto LAD SP
Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Fans eight in third win
43m agoYamamoto (3-2) earned the win Monday, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk over six innings against Houston. He struck out eight.
Yamamoto allowed three runs but brought some of his best stuff in Houston, tallying 17 whiffs and a season-high eight strikeouts. The right-hander has been dependable early on, completing five-plus innings and allowing three or fewer earned runs in each of his seven starts in 2026. He'll carry a 3.09 ERA and 1.01 WHIP with a 40:10 K:BB across 43.2 innings into his next start, tentatively scheduled for next Monday against San Francisco.
-
Brad Keller PHI SP
Phillies' Brad Keller: Grabs second save Monday
1h agoKeller earned the save Monday against the Marlins, allowing two hits in a scoreless ninth inning.
Keller got the job done in the ninth despite some traffic, allowing a pair of singles but limiting the damage to secure the save. After giving up a leadoff hit to Kyle Stowers, the right-hander quickly induced a double play that helped him regain control of the inning. The save was his second in a row with Jhoan Duran still sidelined. Entering Monday Keller struggled recently, allowing runs in three of his last four appearances. The 30-year-old now holds a 4.30 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and a 15:4 K:BB across 14.2 innings.
-
Trevor McDonald SF SP
Giants' Trevor McDonald: Earns victory in season debut
1h agoMcDonald (1-0) earned the win over San Diego on Monday, tossing seven innings during which he allowed one run on two hits and no walks while striking out eight batters.
McDonald is one of San Francisco's top pitching prospects and was called up from Triple-A ahead of Monday's matchup. He had previously thrown 18 major-league innings across the 2024-25 campaigns. The right-hander was very impressive in his first start of 2026, racking up eight punchouts with no walks while breezing through seven frames on just 81 pitches. The only run he gave up came on a first-inning homer by Jackson Merrill. McDonald certainly pitched well enough to earn another start, but there isn't an obvious spot for him in the Giants' rotation, so it will be interesting to see what San Francisco opts to do with him moving forward.
-
Aaron Nola PHI SP
Phillies' Aaron Nola: Rebounds with six scoreless
1h agoNola (2-3) earned the win Monday against the Marlins, allowing five hits while striking out five over six scoreless innings.
Nola turned in a much-needed bounce-back performance after dropping three of his previous four starts while allowing 17 runs over 20 innings during that stretch. The right-hander was in full control, not allowing a single Marlin to even reach second base, thanks in part to catcher Garrett Stubbs, who threw out two attempted base stealers. Despite the strong showing, Nola's season line still sits at a 5.06 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 40:13 K:BB across 37.1 innings. He's slated to face Colorado next, a matchup that saw Nola strikeout nine in a win last time out.

Randy Vasquez SD RP
Padres' Randy Vasquez: Tagged with first loss of season
1h agoVasquez (3-1) took the loss against San Francisco on Monday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two batters over 5.2 innings.
Vasquez wasn't awful in the outing, and he finished just one out away from notching a quality start. However, he also didn't fool many hitters with just seven whiffs and two punchouts. The right-hander began the campaign in fine form, allowing just two runs over his first three starts spanning 17.2 innings while uncharacteristically racking up 19 strikeouts. The punchout numbers have come down since then -- Vasquez has a modest 17:9 K:BB over his subsequent 21.2 frames, and he's allowed 12 earned runs during that span. He still has a respectable 3.20 ERA overall and is secure in his spot in the Padres' rotation. His next start is lined up to take place at home against St. Louis.

Caleb Kilian SF RP
Giants' Caleb Kilian: Records first big-league save
1h agoKilian picked up a save against the Padres on Monday, allowing one run on one hit while striking out two batters over one inning.
With regular closer Ryan Walker having blown two straight save chances, manager Tony Vitello opted to turn to Kilian to protect a two-run, ninth-inning lead. Kilian gave up a long homer to Ramon Laureano to open the frame but was then able to set down Fernando Tatis, Jackson Merrill and Manny Machado in order. Walker didn't end up pitching in the contest, but he spent some time warming up during the seventh inning, per Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area, so he was likely available to pitch. It's not clear if the Giants are turning away from Walker as their closer just yet, though that wouldn't be surprising given his struggles so far (he's blown three of six save chances and has a 4.61 ERA through 14 appearances). Should Walker in fact be moved out of the closer role, Kilian and Keaton Winn could be the top options to step into his place, especially with Erik Miller (back) landing on the injured list Monday.

Janson Junk MIA RP
Marlins' Janson Junk: Sharp again despite loss
1h agoJunk (2-3) took the loss Monday against the Phillies, allowing one run on five hits while striking out six over 5.1 innings.
Junk delivered another strong outing but was saddled with the loss, as he allowed the only run of the night -- a Bryce Harper solo homer in the third inning. The right-hander filled the zone effectively, throwing 64 of his 92 pitches for strikes. He has been excellent of late, allowing just one run across his last 16.1 innings, and he's now gone at least five innings in six consecutive starts. Junk owns a 2.82 ERA and 1.04 WHIP so far, though his 27 strikeouts in 38.1 innings highlight a less appealing fantasy profile. He will look to continue his recent success in his next scheduled outing against Washington.

Riley O'Brien STL RP
Cardinals' Riley O'Brien: Tallies 10th save
2h agoO'Brien picked up the save in Monday's 6-3 victory over Milwaukee. He allowed no hits or walks with no strikeouts over two-thirds of a perfect inning.
With Gordon Graceffo surrendering a two-run homer to Brice Turang in the ninth inning to make it a three-run game and allowing another batter to reach, O'Brien entered with one out and closed the frame without issue to secure a victory for St. Louis. The lanky right-hander has been reliable in the closer role in 2026, allowing an earned run in just two of 17 appearances while posting a 2.12 ERA and 0.94 WHIP with a 19:1 K:BB across 17 innings. His 10 saves rank second in MLB, trailing only Mason Miller (11).

Andres Munoz SEA RP
Mariners' Andres Munoz: Bounces back with save
2h agoMunoz earned a save against Atlanta on Monday, allowing one hit and striking out two batters over one scoreless inning.
Munoz had just a one-run lead to work with when he entered in the bottom of the ninth frame, but he maneuvered around a two-out single to close out the Seattle win. It was a nice rebound performance after the right-hander blew his previous save chance Saturday against Kansas City. Munoz is up to seven saves in nine opportunities on the campaign. His 5.79 ERA is far from pretty, but it's largely due to a five-run blowup over two-thirds of an inning April 15 versus San Diego.

Bryce Harper PHI DH
Phillies' Bryce Harper: Supplies lone run with homer
40m agoHarper went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Monday's 1-0 win over the Marlins.
Harper accounted for all the offense Monday, launching a solo homer off Janson Junk in the third inning -- his seventh of the season. He's been red-hot since his sluggish start to the season, batting .323 since April 6. The veteran also continues to thrive specifically against Miami, as the homer marked his 39th against the Marlins in his career. Harper is now slashing .271/.362/.519 with nine doubles, 20 RBI and 19 runs scored across 149 plate appearances.

Shohei Ohtani LAD DH
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Getting another break from hitting
3h agoOhtani won't be in the lineup as a hitter Tuesday, but he will start on the mound against Houston, Jack Harris of the California Post reports.
Manager Dave Roberts stated after Monday's game that he was initially going to have Ohtani hit as well Tuesday, but he's since changed his made. The Dodgers have made it a point to give Ohtani a day off when they can, even if it means limiting him to pitching only on his turn through the rotation. It's fair to expect the two-way star to be back in the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale.

Heston Kjerstad BAL DH
Orioles' Heston Kjerstad: Seeking clearance for rehab games
10h agoThe Orioles announced Monday that Kjerstad (hamstring) will be re-evaluated soon to determine his readiness for a rehab assignment, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Kjerstad hasn't played in a game since he strained his right hamstring back on March 19, but he's finally closing in on a rehab assignment. Andy Kostka of TheBanner.com notes that the 27-year-old could begin an assignment over the weekend with Double-A Chesapeake if all goes according to plan during the week. Kjerstad is a good bet to remain in the minors once he's activated rather than being added to the Orioles' 26-man active roster.

Mark Vientos NYM DH
Mets' Mark Vientos: Goes deep twice Sunday
1d agoVientos went 2-for-4 with a pair of two-run homers in Sunday's win over the Angels.
Vientos powered the Mets' offense, getting the club on the board with a two-run blast in the fourth inning before extending the lead in the ninth frame with another two-run shot. It marked the 26-year-old's first multi-homer game of the season and his first long ball since April 18. After a brutal cold spell in the middle of April, Vientos may be starting to heat up, with his OPS up to .737 across 26 contests after entering Sunday's game at .650.

Joc Pederson TEX DH
Rangers' Joc Pederson: Moving to bench in Nimmo's return
1d agoPederson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.
After sitting out Saturday's 5-1 loss due to a hamstring injury, Brandon Nimmo will check back into the lineup Sunday as the Rangers' designated hitter, which leaves no room in the lineup for Pederson. With an 0-for-7 showing at the plate over the first two contests of the series in Detroit, Pederson is now batting a lowly .205 on the season.
-
Josh Bell MIN DH
Twins' Josh Bell: Resting in series finale
2d agoBell is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
After starting each of the Twins' last eight games, Bell will rest for Sunday's day game. Byron Buxton will get a day off from playing center field and occupy Bell's usual spot at designated hitter.
