  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Confirmed for Game 4

Bibee will start Thursday in Game 4 of the ALDS against the Tigers, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports. Bibee will be on regular rest after tossing 4.2 shutout frames in Game 1, so he was the obvious call for the Guardians in Game 4. The Tigers used an opener in Game 1 and have not yet announced their Game 4 starter.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Dazzles in win

Bibee (12-8) earned the win Tuesday versus Cincinnati, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out seven. The Cleveland starter ended his 2024 regular season on a high note, securing his career-high 12th quality start while requiring only 88 pitches. After failing to secure seven Ks five times in his previous six outings, Bibee reached that mark for the 13th time this season, generating an impressive 16 whiffs. The only blemish on his performance came via an RBI single by Spencer Steer in the fourth. The 25-year-old Bibee has anchored the Guardians' rotation this season with a 3.47 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 187:44 K:BB across 173.2 innings and will feature prominently in the team's upcoming playoff run.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: No run support in loss

Bibee (11-7) took the loss Sunday against the Dodgers, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings. Bibee pitched well enough to keep the Guardians in the game but received no help from his offense, as the Guardians were shut out by Jack Flaherty and the Dodgers' bullpen. Bibee blanked them through three frames, but the Dodgers were able to push a run across in the fourth after Mookie Betts led off with a triple and then Shohei Ohtani added on in the fifth with a solo home run. Bibee's now issued eight walks over his last three starts and has reached six innings just once over his last six outings. For the year, he owns a 3.56 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 166:41 K:BB in 154 innings. He lines up to face the Rays at home over the weekend his next time out.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Earns 10th win in return

Bibee (10-4) allowed one run on six hits and struck out five without walking a batter over 5.2 innings to earn the win Sunday over the Twins. Bibee hadn't pitched since July 29 due to a shoulder issue, but he was able to avoid a stint on the injured list. He came up an out short of a quality start Sunday, throwing 58 of 84 pitches for strikes to earn his 10th win of the year and his third victory in his last four starts. He's at a 3.39 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 137:31 K:BB through 127.1 innings over 23 starts this season. Assuming he doesn't have a recurrence of the shoulder issue, he's lined up for a road start in Milwaukee next weekend.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Eyeing Sunday return

Bibee (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Thursday and could be cleared to start Sunday in Minnesota, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports. Bibee's last start came July 29, when he gave up two runs over six innings in a win over the Tigers. He experienced right shoulder discomfort coming out of that outing, and while he's now missed more than a week, Bibee seems to have shown some improvement in recent days and still looks poised to avoid a stint on the injured list. After playing catch earlier in the week, Bibee will take another major step forward in the recovery process when he steps back on the mound Thursday. Assuming Bibee experiences no renewed discomfort after the bullpen session, he should be on track to rejoin the rotation Sunday, though he could be operating under some light restrictions.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Pushed back with tight shoulder

Bibee's next scheduled start will be pushed back a few days due to right shoulder tightness, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports. The righty pitched well in picking up a win Monday versus the Tigers but felt some shoulder discomfort after the outing. Bibee had been slated to take the ball Saturday against the Orioles, but that responsibility will now fall to Joey Cantillo. The Guardians have not revealed a target date for Bibee's next start, but they have an opening Monday versus the Diamondbacks that he could fill if he's feeling up to it.

Bibee got through the first six innings unscathed before getting into trouble and giving up two in the seventh. It was another quality start for the 25-year-old, and he has now allowed just three runs in three outings since the All-Star break. Bibee has paced the Guardians rotation this season with a 3.48 ERA over 121.2 innings. He's scheduled to face the Orioles next in a weekend series at Progressive Field.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Cleared for next start

Bibee (knee) is listed as the Guardians' probable pitcher for Monday's game in Detroit. Bibee experienced cramping in his right knee during his most recent start Wednesday, which also came against the Tigers, but the issue doesn't look as though it'll prevent him from taking his next turn through the rotation. The right-hander will carry an 8-4 record, 3.50 ERA and 1.09 WHIP into Monday's outing.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Exits start early

Bibee was removed from his start Wednesday against the Tigers due to an apparent right knee injury, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. Bibee needed just 67 pitches to get through five innings of one-run ball, but he seemed to be having issues with his knee while warming up ahead of the sixth frame. His status for his next start -- tentatively slated for Monday in Detroit -- is uncertain.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Blanks Friars for eighth win

Bibee (8-4) picked up the win Friday, scattering two hits and three walks over 5.2 innings in a 7-0 victory over the Padres. He struck out three. San Diego didn't get a runner past second base against Bibee, who got the hook after 102 pitches (67 strikes) just short of his eighth quality start of the season. While this was an encouraging outing after the right-hander gave up eight runs in 11.2 innings over his last two starts before the All-Star break, Bibee has issued multiple walks in three straight trips to the mound, something he hadn't done since April. He'll take a 3.58 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 126:30 K:BB through 110.2 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Tigers.

Overall, he's 4-1 on the year with a 3.73 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 76:19 K:BB through 70 innings. Bibee's currently in line for a road matchup with the Reds in his next outing.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Dominates in no-decision

Bibee tossed seven scoreless innings, giving up two hits and no walks while striking out nine batters in a no-decision against Atlanta on Saturday. However, he was matched in putting zeroes up on the scoreboard by veteran Charlie Morton, and both hurlers had to settle for a no-decision. This was Bibee's first quality start of the campaign -- before Saturday, he hadn't gone deeper than 5.2 frames in any outing. Through six starts, the right-hander has a 3.45 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 35:12 K:BB over 31.1 innings.
