Lake was designated for assignment Monday.
With Jose Bautista (toe) coming off the DL, the Jays needed to clear a spot on the roster, so Lake will be the casualty. The outfielder failed to impress in 19 games for Toronto on the season, hitting just .206 with a .289 OBP. He'll now be subject to waivers and figures to land at Triple-A Buffalo if he passes through unclaimed.
