Cody Thomas: Inks deal with Japanese team

Thomas signed a contract with the Orix Buffaloes of Nippon Professional Baseball on Tuesday.

Thomas saw spot duty with the Athletics the last two seasons, producing a .641 OPS in 29 games. The 28-year-old will now ply his trade overseas for the first time.
