Jose De La Cruz: Cut loose by Tigers

The Tigers released De La Cruz on Friday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

De La Cruz was a highly touted international prospect when the Tigers gave him a $1.8 million signing bonus back in 2018, but the Dominican outfielder hasn't progressed out of the lower levels of the minors. In 2025, the 23-year-old has slashed .157/.255/.225 with a 36.3 percent strikeout rate for Single-A Lakeland.
