Mets' Ben Rowen: In running for MLB bullpen role

Rowen is in the conversation to make the Mets' Opening Day bullpen, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.

Carig commented that some figures in the Mets brass like the different look the 28-year-old brings to the table, which could bode well for Rowen over the next couple weeks. He struggled in his brief cup of coffee with the Brewers last season, but he was stellar at Triple-A in their organization (1.69 ERA, 10.6 K/9), so there is some upside to his game if the Mets choose to take a chance with him.
