Tigers' Jacob Robson: Receives big-league call-up

Robson will have his contract selected from Triple-A Toledo on Thursday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Robson was in major-league camp with the Tigers during spring training, and he'll receive his first taste of the big leagues with Niko Goodrum (groin) heading to the injured list. Akil Baddoo (concussion) and Derek Hill (ribs) also landed on the shelf Wednesday, so there should be significant playing time available in Detroit's outfield. Robson opened the season at Double-A Erie but posted a 1.243 OPS in 18 games to quickly earn a promotion, and he's continued to hit well at Toledo with a .280/.397/.440 slash line, though he also has a 35.9 percent strikeout rate.
