  • Padres' Martin Maldonado: Getting breather Sunday

    Maldonado is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

    He'll hit the bench for the series finale after going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts while starting behind the plate in the first two contests in Cincinnati. Elias Diaz will handle catching duties for San Diego on Sunday.

    Bart is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

    Bart was behind the plate for the first two games of the series, but he'll get some rest for Sunday's matinee contest. Henry Davis will handle catching duties for the Pirates, forming a battery with starting pitcher Mike Burrows.

  • Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Receiving Sunday off

    Stephenson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against San Diego.

    Stephenson started the previous nine games but will hit the bench Sunday while in the midst of an 0-for-12 slump. Jose Trevino will work behind the plate and bat seventh in the series finale versus the Padres.

  • Braves' Drake Baldwin: Remaining on bench Sunday

    Baldwin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

    The left-handed-hitting Baldwin has a .973 OPS with two home runs and an 8:4 BB:K across his past eight contests, but he finds himself on the bench Sunday for Atlanta's second consecutive game while the Phillies send another lefty (Ranger Suarez) to the hill. Sean Murphy will start behind the plate and bat sixth in the series finale versus Philadelphia.

    Diamondbacks' James McCann: Two hits in Saturday's loss

    McCann went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-7 loss to Miami.

    McCann made his second start behind the plate since the Diamondbacks signed him Monday. The veteran backstop was drilled by a pitch on the hand Saturday but was able to stay in the game. He's expected to split work behind the dish with Jose Herrera until Gabriel Moreno (finger) returns from the injured list.

    Pirates' Joey Bart: On base three times

    Bart went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored Saturday against the Mets.

    Bart played a key role in Pittsburgh's three-run second inning by tallying an RBI single and coming around to score. He's started seven of 11 games since returning from the injured list June 17, going 7-for-27 with three RBI and four runs scored.

  • Sean Murphy C | ATL

    Braves' Sean Murphy: Launches grand slam

    Murphy went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and a double in Saturday's 6-1 win over Philadelphia.

    His long ball in the seventh inning gave Atlanta some breathing room after Philadelphia had pulled within a run in the sixth. Prior to that, Murphy had gone 14 games without a homer, batting just .190 (8-for-42) in that span. He's up to 10 homers on the year, matching his 72-game total from last year. Murphy has added 26 RBI, 16 runs scored, five doubles and a .225/.319/.450 slash line across 49 contests in 2025 while sharing catching duties with Drake Baldwin.

    Kelly isn't part of the starting nine for Saturday's game against Houston.

    Kelly will yield to Reese McGuire behind the dish against Houston right-hander Lance McCullers. Kelly had caught back-to-back games, going 3-for-7 with an RBI and two runs scored.

    Baldwin will yield to Sean Murphy behind the dish for the second time in three games. Baldwin is 11-for-54 (.204) with four home runs and a 10:12 BB:K in June.

    Pages isn't in the starting lineup versus Cleveland on Saturday.

    Pages will begin on the bench after starting four of St. Louis' previous five games. In his stead, Yohel Pozo is getting a start behind the dish and batting eighth in the order.
