Jackson had reverted to Carolina's injured reserve list last week, but his settlement with the team will allow him the opportunity to ink elsewhere in the league this season, when healthy. He offers the ability to contribute as a depth cornerback and on special teams.

Jackson sustained an injury during Saturday's 15-12 preseason loss the the Jets, and Carolina has now decided to move on from the 26-year-old cornerback. If Jackson goes unclaimed on waivers, he'll revert back to the Panthers' injured reserve list and miss all of 2024 unless the two parties reach an injury settlement at some point this year.
