Blackhawks' Kurtis Gabriel: Heads to AHL

The Blackhawks assigned Gabriel to AHL Rockford on Wednesday, Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Gabriel has been on the NHL roster since Chicago acquired him Dec. 9 but has only played two games. It remains to be seen whether the 28-year-old receives a call-up before the season ends.
