Hurricanes' Drew Shore: Ascends to taxi squad

Shore was promoted to Carolina's taxi squad Thursday, Michael Smith of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

Shore will be on hand as an emergency option for Thursday's game versus the Panthers. He's only cracked the Hurricanes' lineup one time this year, posting a minus-1 rating in 8:35 of ice time in a 4-3 win over Dallas on Jan. 31.
