Karabacek signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Sabres on Thursday.
Karabacek, selected 49th overall in the 2014 NHL Draft, has spent the last three seasons playing juniors where he racked up 72 goals and 77 helpers in 209 career games. Given the elevated status of the QMJHL in the minds of fans and fantasy owners alike, the 20-year-old is certainly going to have high expectations heading into the 2016-17 season. If he can demonstrate the ability to get on the scoresheet at the professional level, the winger may not spend a lot of time in the AHL next year and could be part of the youth movement in Buffalo.
