Stars' Magnus Hellberg: Starting in Colorado

Hellberg will guard the road goal in Monday's preseason matchup against the Avalanche, according to Sam Nestler of DLLS Stars.

Hellberg will play two periods, and Remi Poirier will enter the contest in the third frame. The 33-year-old Hellberg appeared in 27 AHL regular-season contests between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Charlotte in 2023-24. In 26 career NHL appearances, he has an 8-8-1 record with a 3.08 GAA and an .890 save percentage. He will likely begin the 2024-25 campaign in the minors because he ranks behind Jake Oettinger and Casey DeSmith on the Dallas depth chart.
