2022 3M Open DFS: Optimal DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy golf picks, PGA lineups, sleepers, advice
DFS pro with over $2M in winnings gives PGA DFS advice and 3M Open DFS strategy for DraftKings and FanDuel

The PGA Tour is set to return to the United States this week as the 2022 3M Open tees off from TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota on Thursday. However, PGA DFS lineups won't be quite as robust as they were for the British Open. Hideki Matsuyama is the only top-15 ranked player in the 3M Open 2022 field, and trails only Tony Finau in terms of PGA DFS price tags on both FanDuel and DraftKings. But you could get a number of former winners of this tournament for a bargain, includingMichael Thompson and defending champion Cameron Champ.
An effective 2022 3M Open PGA DFS strategy would be to combine highly-ranked but expensive golfers with lower-priced options who can still give you bang for the buck. So which golfers would make the best PGA DFS picks in a tournament that lacks the star power of previous events? Before you lock in your PGA DFS picks for the 2022 3M Open, check out the latest daily Fantasy golf picks, advice and player pool from SportsLine's Mike McClure.
McClure is a DFS pro with over $2 million in career winnings, and he's been red-hot on his PGA Tour picks this season. McClure is also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every tournament 10,000 times, taking factors like statistical trends, past results and current form into account. This allows him to find the best PGA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They're a must-see for any PGA DFS player.
Earlier this month at the John Deere Classic, McClure included J.T. Poston among his core PGA DFS picks on FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: Poston recorded his second-career PGA Tour victory, shooting 21-under par. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable weekend.
In addition, McClure's model is up over $10,300 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament. This same model has also nailed a whopping eight majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.
Now, McClure has set his sights on the 2022 3M Open and revealed his optimal PGA DFS advice, strategy and player pool. Head to SportsLine now to see his top daily Fantasy golf picks for the 3M Open 2022.
2022 3M Open PGA DFS picks
One of McClure's top PGA DFS picks for the 3M Open 2022 is Hideki Matsuyama at $10,300 on DraftKings and $11,900 on FanDuel. Matsuyama tops all golfers in the field in both FedEx Cup Rankings (No. 8) and Official World Golf Ranking (No. 14). He has six top-10 finishes this season, and even though he's coming off a disappointing British Open (T-68), he shot a 67 on Sunday which was the 10th-best score of the day.
The 2021 Masters champion had a solid seventh-place finish in his only previous start at the 3M Open, which came two years ago. Matsuyama also has all the tools needed to excel at TPC Twin Cities as he's an elite ball-striker who has top 10 marks in both strokes gained: tee-to-green (1.314) and strokes gained: approach the green (.911). He also ranks 14th in greens in regulation percentage (69.58 percent), and that mark ranks second amongst golfers in the 2022 3M Open field.
McClure's optimal PGA DFS strategy also includes rostering Jason Day ($7,800 on DraftKings, $10,500 on FanDuel). The former World No. 1 did not compete at the British Open but that could be advantageous to him as he won't have to deal with the jet lag. Day, a former PGA champion and Players champion, has notched two third-place finishes this season, which are his first top-three finishes since 2018.
Day is someone whose game gets stronger the closer he gets to the hole. He ranks among the top 20 percent of the tour in strokes gained: around-the-green (.283), and he ranks 10th on tour in putting average (1.727). The latter will especially come in handy at the 2022 3M Open, as TPC Twin Cities is known for its wavy, quick greens which can frustrate even the best of golfers. With Day's combination of an excellent short game and an elite putter, he is one of the most underrated 3M Open DFS picks.
