Indians release Jhoulys Chacin from minor-league deal

The Indians released Jhoulys Chacin from his minor-league deal Thursday after the veteran pitcher chose to opt out of his contract.

The former Rockies pitcher went 1-3 with a 3.21 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in seven starts for Triple-A Columbus.
