MLB free agency: Reds sign free-agent outfielder Tommy Pham, per report
The Reds lost Nick Castellanos to free agency and traded Jesse Winker this offseason

The Cincinnati Reds and free-agent outfielder Tommy Pham are in agreement on a one-year, $7.5 million deal, reports Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer. The deal also reportedly includes a mutual option for the 2023 season and is pending a physical.
Pham, 34, hit .229/.340/.383 (103 OPS+) with 24 doubles, two triples, 15 homers, 49 RBI, 74 runs, 14 steals and 1.4 WAR with the Padres last season. He's played all three outfield spots in his career, but is most familiar in left field and that's probably where he's best suited to stay at this point.
The Reds won 83 games last season and would have been the sixth seed under the new playoff format, but they lost All-Star outfielder Nick Castellanos to free agency and traded their other All-Star outfielder, Jesse Winker, to the Mariners.
Given what's on the current roster, Pham looks like the everyday left fielder. Surely they'll finally just let former first-round pick Nick Senzel get everyday at-bats in center field, leaving Tyler Naquin and Aristides Aquino to possibly platoon in right field. Shogo Akiyama provides depth.
There's also a DH spot. Lefty-swinging Colin Moran is a candidate there, as well as any of the above-listed outfielders along with any infielders (Joey Votto, Mike Moustakas, etc.) who could rotate through the spot while getting a breather from defensive action.
With Pham signed, the remaining free-agent pool continues thinning. Michael Conforto, who was attached to a qualifying offer, remains unsigned and is likely the only viable starting-caliber position-player remaining.
