Padres' Carlos Quentin probably done for rest of season

Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin hasn't played since July 26 because of a sore left knee, and now it appears that he'll miss the remainder of 2014. Here are manager Bud Black's recent comments via Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune ...

Quentin this season is batting .177/.284/.315 in 50 games. For his career, he owns an OPS+ of 120 across parts of nine big-league seasons. As ever, though, the problem is injuries, as Quentin has missed more than 350 games due to injury over the course of his career.
Quentin is signed through next season, and his contract also includes a $10-million mutual option for 2016.
