Rays, Sean Rodriguez avoid arbitration

The Rays and outfielder Sean Rodriguez have avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year deal worth $1.475 million.

Rodriguez is in his second year of arbitration eligibility, leaving him one remaining season of team control before reaching free agency. He hit .246/.320/.385 with five home runs and 23 RBI in 195 at-bats last season.
