  • Rangers' Jimmy Reyes: Set to begin at Triple-A

Reyes will begin the 2017 season with Triple-A Round Rock, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

The 28-year-old spent the past three seasons at the Triple-A level, but he wasn't able to find enough success in that time to warrant a trip to the big leagues. Unless he picks up his performance out of Round Rock's bullpen, Reyes will likely serve as an organizational depth piece moving forward.

  • Rangers' Jimmy Reyes: Over elbow issue

Reyes has a 1.93 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and four strikeouts in 4.2 innings of relief at Triple-A Round Rock.

He missed a chunk of spring training with a bruised elbow, but is back to working in high-leverage spots for the Express. Reyes is 1-for-1 in save opportunities this year, and will continue to serve as organizational bullpen depth.

  • Rangers' Jimmy Reyes: Leaves with bruised elbow

Reyes left Monday's game with a bruised left elbow, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Jeff Wilson reports.

He has impressed the Rangers this spring, but the 27-year-old lefty was always facing an uphill battle to crack the roster out of spring training. If he has to miss a chunk of time with the elbow bruise, that should be enough to punch his ticket to Triple-A for the start of the season, where he would serve as organizational bullpen depth.

  • Rangers' Jimmy Reyes: Struck by line drive Monday, removed from game

Reyes was struck by a line drive Monday and was removed from the game afterward, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

It's not clear where the left-hander was hit, but it isn't reassuring that he was removed after trying only one warm-up pitch following the incident. His status should become more clear in the coming days.
