Royals' Dallas Beeler: Latches on with Kansas City
Beeler agreed Sunday with the Royals on a minor-league contract, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
Beeler hasn't made an appearance in affiliated ball since the 2016 campaign, instead electing to pitch in the independent ranks the past two seasons. His performance with the Atlantic League's Sugar Land Skeeters must have captured the attention of the Royals, who will assign the right-hander to Double-A Northwest Arkansas. Beeler will look to impress in the Texas League with the hope of parlaying the minors stint into an opportunity in the big leagues.

Cubs' Dallas Beeler: Back to game action
Beeler (elbow) logged 2.2 innings so far this spring, allowing one unearned run on one hit, one walk and two hit batsmen.
It's good to see Beeler healthy again, although his lack of control is a bit concerning. Given that he doesn't strike out very many batters, he relies on commanding his offerings heavily, although plunking two hitters and walking another hardly portrays command. He'll need to shore up his performance if he wants to be anything more than organizational depth this season.

Cubs' Dallas Beeler: Activated from DL and outrighted
Beeler (elbow) was activated off the 60-day disabled list and subsequently sent outright to Triple-A Iowa, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.
Beeler only managed to appear in eight games with Triple-A Iowa this past season, so the Cubs felt that they had other pieces more worthy of a 40-man roster spot. The right-hander is only 27 years old, so if he maintains his health, he still could latch onto the big league roster at some point if they are in need of bullpen depth or a spot starter.

Cubs' Dallas Beeler: Moved to 60-day DL
Beeler (elbow) was placed on the 60-day DL on Friday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
From June 3 to June 27, Beeler threw in eight separate games while rehabbing his elbow. Over that time, he built a 4.16 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. The Cubs have yet to indicate how much longer Beeler will be away from action or how they'll proceed with getting the 27-year-old righty healthy.

Cubs' Dallas Beeler: Stays in Iowa
Beeler (elbow) has made four rehab appearances for Triple-A Iowa this month, giving up three hits and three runs in five innings. He has walked one and has not struck out a batter.
The Cubs do not appear to be in any hurry to move Beeler up to the majors, so he'll probably continue to pitch for Iowa for the time being.
