Indians' Guillermo Quiroz: Signs NRI contract with Indians
Quiroz signed a minor league contract with the Indians on Monday that includes an invitation to major league spring training.
The journeyman catcher spent the 2016 season with the Indians' Triple-A affiliate in Columbus, and even posted a .761 OPS in 75 games there. That being said, Quiroz is 34 years old and has never produced very much at the major league level, so he'll likely spend another season as organizational depth unless something major happens to Yan Gomes and Roberto Perez.

Indians' Guillermo Quiroz: Hits 1-7 in spring training
Quiroz went 1-7 with an RBI this spring, striking out twice as well.
The 34-year-old catcher has only three at-bats in the majors over the last two years and seems unlikely to add much to that number this season. The Indians have both Yan Gomes and Roberto Perez on their major league roster, both five years younger, and better hitters, than Quiroz.
