Toronto Raptors forward Patrick Patterson wants One Direction to attend Thursday's game at London's O2 Arena, he told Complex's Corey Pellatt. With the Raptors facing the Orlando Magic, Patterson thinks the pop stars' support could help his team just like their global ambassador, Drake.

He’s unlikely to be courtside at the O2 but are there any big UK names you’d like to see in a Raptors jersey?

PP: One Direction. I don’t listen to them but the only reason I’d love to see all of them do a concert in Raptors jerseys is because they sell out concerts, shows, everything – If you get them in jerseys, it’d be huge for the team.

To me, the most interesting part of this story is that Patterson said that he doesn't listen to One Direction. In an interview with CBC Music last year, Patterson claimed he listened to essentially everything imaginable before games, including The Temptations, The Supremes, The Five Heartbeats, R. Kelly, Soul For Real, Boyz II Men, New Edition, Drake, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Jay Z, Imagine Dragons, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Kid Rock, Simple Plan, Blink 182, The Fugees and Barry White. After seeing that, I never thought he'd say there was a band he didn't like.

Toronto will meet Orlando at O2 Arena at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday.
