Steph Curry was asked by reporters on Sunday what it would be like going back to Cleveland for the first time since winning the title. Curry responded, "I hope it smells like champagne." Curry complained about it on Twitter later that night.

If Curry said anything beyond that, the Bay Area media didn't print it. Curry just said it'll bring back good memories, and then said the thing about the champagne. If you like Curry, it's an innocuous comment from the best player in the league right now. If you are a Cleveland Cavalier, however, you might feel differently. From Cleveland.com, the Cavs didn't take it well.

Sources are telling cleveland.com that members of the Cavaliers have taken exception to the quote and viewed it as "disrespectful."
When LeBron James finished up his media address after shootaround this morning, he walked away asking reporters why no one asked him about Curry's comments. He said he had an answer for it.

Let's all take a moment and celebrate this as the first time LeBron James has not been asked about something controversial. Anyway, don't be surprised if James elects not to weigh in pre-game. This gives him some time to think about it and realize he doesn't want to get into it. Additionally, James tends to take the "we have to be better" approach rather than talking down anyone else. James is not a public trash talker, never has been. However, this whole episode certainly does add an extra dimension the Cavs-Warriors game Monday night.
