What you need to know about the Suns

Just about everyone contributed in Phoenix's 108-90 win against the Lakers in their last game. Devin Booker shot 6-for-11 from beyond the arc and finished with 24 points, seven dimes and nine rebounds. The performance was his best since returning from a hamstring injury that kept him out of action for seven games. Center Deandre Ayton also dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards.

The Suns are the best shooting team in the NBA this season, and have hit 47.7 percent of their shots. They've been just as effective on the defensive end, and have allowed opponents to hit just 43.4 percent of their attempts. Phoenix has held its opposition to the lowest field goal percentage on 2-point attempts, and have done so while blocking the fourth-fewest shots per game, at 4.1. That could create some serious trouble of OKC, who is the second-worst shooting team in the league, having made just 41.5 percent of its looks.

What you need to know about the Thunder

Shooting wasn't a problem for the Thunder on Wednesday, when they took down the Nuggets 108-94 on Wednesday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander posted a triple-double on 27 points, 12 assists, and 11 boards, and was the high-scorer for the game. Oklahoma City is on a three-game winning streak, and SGA has been feeling it during the team's current run, with 22.7 points, 7.3 assists and 6.3 rebounds per game.

After missing a game against New Orleans on December 15, Luguentz Dort came back with a 29-point performance against the Los Angeles Clippers. He's leveled out a bit since then, with 27 points over OKC's next two wins, but has contributed with 17 rebounds so far during the current win-streak. Oklahoma City is just 1-3 in the second of back-to-back games this season, and lost two of its three games to Phoenix last season. The Thunder did win their first meeting against the Suns last year, and this will be the first game between the sides in 2021-22.
