NFL Christmas betting preview

Thursday's slate begins with the Commanders hosting the Cowboys in an NFC East battle between teams that are already eliminated from the playoffs. Dallas is on a three-game losing streak after falling to the Chargers at home last week, while Washington has lost nine of its last 10 games and is playing without quarterback Jayden Daniels (elbow). Dallas, which cruised to a 44-22 win over Washington in Week 7, is an 8.5-point road favorite in the Week 17 NFL odds.

Another division rivalry takes place at 4:30 p.m. ET, as Detroit tries to keep its slim playoff hopes alive against Minnesota. The Lions need to win out and get plenty of help from other teams in order to make the postseason after losing three of their last four games. Minnesota has already been eliminated from playoff contention, and it is a 7.5-point home underdog on Thursday.

The Chiefs host the Broncos in an AFC West matchup at 8:15 p.m. ET in the final game of the day. Kansas City is out of the playoff race and is down to third-string quarterback Chris Oladokun, while Denver is tied with New England for the top seed in the AFC. The Broncos are 13.5-point favorites in the Christmas Day odds from BetMGM. Sign up for BetMGM Sportsbook to wager on Christmas Day NFL here:
