Smith was claimed off of the Seahawks' practice squad last week and he looks set to be active for Arizona on Sunday versus the Bears. It's unclear what role the 23-year-old could play on the Cardinals' defense.

    Smith was waived by the Seahawks on Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official website reports. Smith will now be available to be claimed by another team and if not, he'll likely return to Seattle's practice squad. The linebacker made his NFL debut in Week 2, recording a tackle while playing 14 combined snaps between the defense and special teams.

Smith is a defensive end out of Ohio State who was a blue-chip recruit out of high school. He registered 8.0 sacks during his time as a Buckeye and uses his speed to fuel his pass-rush plan.
