Bruins vs. Flyers score: David Pastrnak carries Boston to 7-3 rout in Lake Tahoe
The longtime rivals close out the NHL's weekend in Lake Tahoe

In the final NHL game in Lake Tahoe, the Boston Bruins showed why they're one of the top contenders for the Stanley Cup this season. Behind four second period goals, the Bruins topped the shorthanded Philadelphia Flyers 7-3 on Sunday evening. It marked the fifth victory in five games for the Bruins against the Flyers this season.
The Bruins were led by star forward David Pastrnak, who recorded a hat trick for the second time this season against the Flyers.
In the final four minutes of the second period, the Bruins put the game away. Charlie Coyle, Trent Frederic and Nick Ritchie scored one goal apiece over a 1:39 stretch to break a 2-2 tie. Pastrnak had the goal early in the second period that initially broke the tie prior to the three-goal surge.
The two teams engaged in a back-and-forth affair in the first period. Pastrnak opened the scoring just 34 seconds into the game as he scored off a pass from teammate Brad Marchand on an odd-man rush. The Flyers did answer with goals from second-year forward Joel Farabee and center Sean Couturier to give Philadelphia a 2-1 lead. However, the Bruins then tied the game via a thunderous drive from Charlie McAvoy.
The Philadelphia Flyers entered Sunday's game missing five of their top forwards and a defenseman. Due to COVID-19 protocols, forwards Claude Giroux, Travis Konecny, Jakub Voracek, Oskar Lindblom, Scott Laughton and defenseman Justin Braun were unable to make the trip to Lake Tahoe.
Bruins defeat the Flyers 7-3 on Lake Tahoe. David Pastrnak led the way for Boston with a hat trick and the Bruins scored six of the last seven goals in this one.
For the second time this season, David Pastrnak has a hat trick against the Flyers. Pastrnak scores on a one-timer to give the Bruins a 7-3 lead.
James van Riemsdyk gets one back for the Flyers on the power play. van Riemsdyk deflects one home and got an assist from Urho Vaakanainen's skate. Flyers trail 6-3 now with six minutes left.
Anders Bjork gets called for hooking. The Flyers looking to get some positive momentum going here in the third period as they trail the Bruins 6-2.
