The Arizona Coyotes announced that their famous (or infamous, depending on who you ask) black Kachina-style jerseys will be making a comeback for one night only. The team will wear their original jerseys that just screamed, "We are totally living in the mid-1990s, dude" on March 5 for a Throwback Night against the Vancouver Canucks.

This will be the first time the Coyotes have ever worn a throwback jersey, which isn’t much of a surprise considering that the club’s first season in the desert came in 1996-97.

The team will also honor original Coyote Jeremy Roenick with a throwback bobble head. Roenick, who the Coyotes enshrined as one of the first three players in their Ring of Honor, will also take part in a ceremonial opening faceoff.

If the Coyotes are looking to save a few bucks, they wouldn't even need to make a new jersey for captain Shane Doan . He could probably just pull one out of his closet, seeing as he is also one of the team's original players from that 1996-97 season. Looks like they'll get him a fresh one anyway, though.

Perhaps the old jerseys will remind the Yotes fans of the glory years of Roenick and Keith Tkachuk, when the team usually made the playoffs regularly. They could use a distraction from this rather dismal season.
