Bygones are now bygones as Pavel Bure and the Vancouver Canucks have officially made up from their somewhat messy divorce.

The Canucks will retire his No. 10 jersey this upcoming season and put his number into the rafters among the other franchise greats. They made the announcement on Tuesday evening at their Summer Series -- sounds like a WWE pay-per-view event -- with Bure on hand.

"It will for sure be one of the moments of my life," Bure said. "It's a huge honour, it's one of those things that I never even dreamed about when I started to play hockey. Even when I was playing hockey for the Canucks I remember Stan Smyl was getting the same ceremony and it still didn't even cross my mind in those days that one-day I'd be there. Fortunately good things have happened and it's a big thing."

This comes after another overdue honor was awarded to Bure, induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame. He went in as a member of the Class of 2012. Among his three teams, he's most associated with Vancouver, where he began his career and dazzled hockey fans, showing everybody why he was the Russian Rocket, twice scoring 60 for the Canucks.

Any honors for Bure are the best, he was my favorite player growing up and one of the big reasons why I got into hockey.
