PHOTO: Ducks goalie Frederik Andersen's new 'Reservoir Dogs' mask
Frederik Andersen is getting another awesome goalie mask this season. His new mask pays homage to the movie "Reservoir Dogs" with a twist.
The Anaheim Ducks goaltending tandem of Frederik Andersen and John Gibson are competing for minutes between the pipes this year. They’re also going head-to-head in a pretty close race for best goalie masks of the season.
Andersen’s first lid featured a LEGO goalie building a brick wall, which of course was awesome. Gibson has helmets that honor old video games like Pac-Man and Space Invaders. All of these masks have been painted by Dave Gunnarsson, who has been putting together some classics over the last few years.
The latest DaveArt-designed mask Andersen will wear at some point this season calls to mind Quentin Tarantino’s cult-classic film Reservoir Dogs, but with a twist.
Behold, Andersen’s “Reservoir Ducks” mask.

Prominently featured on one side is the old Mighty Ducks of Anaheim logo with shades on. The other side features a quacked-out version of Mr. Blonde, who was played by Michael Madsen and is responsible for the film’s most memorable scene. Like in that scene, the Mr. Blonde duck is holding an old-fashioned barber’s razor.
One of the more unique touches on the mask is the chin-plate, which is painted to look like Andersen is the one wearing a white shirt and black tie.
You have to love it when the goalies go a little off-the-wall with their mask designs and this one certainly does that.
