Barcelona star Neymar banned three games and will miss El Clasico vs. Real Madrid
The Brazilian superstar was suspended for his behavior following his red card over the weekend
Barcelona superstar Neymar has been suspended for three games as a result of his behavior following the red card he received on Saturday against Malaga by a La Liga committee. The three-game ban means that he will be out of action against Real Madrid in El Clasico on April 23.
In Saturday’s 2-0 loss at La Rosaleda, he was shown two yellow cards and a red for overly physical play, and when he exited the field he mocked the fourth official by sarcastically applauding. Here’s the video:

The referee, Jesus Gil Manzano, included Neymar in hist postmatch report, and La Liga made the decision to ban him for three games, which the club can appeal. The suspension is only for games in La Liga and does not apply to the Champions League, where Barca plays Juventus on Tuesday in the quarterfinals.
If he does indeed serve three matches, he’ll miss the monster clash with Real Madrid on April 23, which could go a long way in deciding the title race with Real up three points at the moment. He would also miss this weekend’s clash with Real Sociedad and a match against Osasuna on April 26.
