Chelsea won its 13th-straight Premier League match to tie the league record, beating Stoke City 4-2 on Saturday to finish 2016 in first place with half the season to go. The Blues are at the top of the table with a six-point advantage over Liverpool, who beat Manchester City 1-0.

The top two, along with third-place Man. City and fourth-place Arsenal, would qualify for the Champions League if the season ended today. Meanwhile, last season's winner Leicester City is in 15th with 20 points.
Teams play a total of 38 league matches, so there is still plenty of time for teams to make a jump. And Sunderland, Hull City and Swansea have to, or they are gone from the Premier League come next season.
