Last week's plane crash in Colombia that killed 71, including the majority of the Chapecoense soccer team of Brazil, will always be in our memories. So will those images from the emotional public memorial. When it comes to that tragic night in Colombia, it's hard to find anything that will make you smile, especially after learning about all of those lives cut short and the lives of those that were impacted.

However, here's something that will hopefully help all of those still coping with the tragedy.

That's Alan Ruschel, a Chapecoense defender who survived the crash. He spoke publicly as he recovers from his injuries.

Here's the translation of what he says in the video above.

"Hello, people from Brazil and the whole world connected in my recovery, I'm Alan Ruschel. I wanted to tell you that I'm recovering very well. Soon, I will soon be in Brazil to finish my recovery. I wanted to thank everyone for their strength and for their affectionate wishes. I just wanted to thank everyone. Thank you very much".

Obviously it's great to see him doing well, especially after so many weren't as fortunate as him to survive. It's great knowing he has witnessed the support being shown around the world, and hopefully it makes all of this easier on him and the few survivors of the crash.
