WWE Raw results, recap, grades: Jey Uso blasts LA Knight with a shocking spear after main event

The dominance of Seth Rollins and The Vision has begun to rot the minds of many in the Raw locker room, causing them to fight against their own best interests. That was the case on Monday night when Jey Uso and LA Knight could not get on the same page even with the same enemies.

Arguments throughout the night culminated in Uso shocking the Milwaukee crowd with a spear after the night's main event. Knight will certainly be looking for revenge now, which could come at Wrestlepalooza, where The Usos are set to face The Vision's Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker.

CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.

Jey Uso blasts LA Knight with a shocking spear after main event

At the top of the show, The Usos announced that they would face Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker at Wrestlepalooza after the two teams exchanged words to kick off the show. After the announcement, LA Knight attacked the vision, eventually leading to miscommunication to allow Reed to splash Jey Uso in the corner, though Knight and The Usos ran off The Vision, though Jey and Knight argued after the fact. Those bad feelings would continue throughout the show, with Jey Uso telling Jimmy Uso that he had no interest in having Knight's back when Knight faced Reed later in the night. Jimmy spoke to Knight in the locker room, saying he'd back him up but Knight said if Jimmy was thinking about helping, not to do it.

Bronson Reed def. LA Knight via pinfall after a Jagged Edge. Bron Breakker's ringside presence allowed Reed to score the victory. After the match, Breakker and Reed continued the attack on Knight until Jimmy Uso ran in to try and make the save. Uso's save attempt was cut off by a Breakker spear. As Breakker and Reed attacked, Jey Uso returned to save his brother. Again, Breakker cut things off with a spear. Before things could get too out of hand, Knight ran off The Vision with a chair. After Jimmy and Knight shook hands and appeared to settle things, Jey speared Knight before the show went off the air.

Misunderstandings between wrestlers are a trope as old as modern professional wrestling, but it's a trope because it works. The Usos and Knight have every reason to be on the same side, just as Jey, Knight and Punk did when they all challenged Seth Rollins for the world heavyweight championship at Clash in Paris. But egos will cause issues and derail the best interests of those involved. How this will all play out is still to be seen, but it feels as though WWE is teasing the idea of turning Jey heel despite being one of the promotion's top babyfaces. All of that could be interesting, or a major flop since turning hot babyfaces is almost always a disaster. Grade: B

What else happened on WWE Raw?

  • AJ Styles def. El Grande Americano via pinfall after a Styles Clash. A second Americano interfered in the match multiple times before Dragon Lee ran in to even the odds and allow Styles to get the win.
  • Raquel Rodriguez def. Lyra Valkyria via pinafll after a Tejana Bomb.
  • A mixed tag team match pitting AJ Lee and CM Punk against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch was made for Wrestlepalooza. Lee cut a promo introducing herself to fans who weren't around when she retired a decade ago, eventually being interrupted by Lynch. Lee, wearing Lynch's intercontinental championship belt, told Lynch she could come take the title, or accept the tag match. Rollins came out to try and assist his wife, only for Punk to also intervene, leading to Rollins accepting the match.
  • Rusev def. Penta via pinfall after a Machka Kick. The match was made when Rusev interrupted Penta speaking to Adam Pearce about an intercontinental title shot. During the match, New Day came out, causing a distraction that allowed Rusev to pick up the victory.
  • Asuka def. Nikki Bella via submission with an Asuka Lock. Earlier in the night, Asuka told Bella not to talk to Iyo Sky as Bella was congratulating Sky on her upcoming omen's world championship match, leading to the bout being made for later in the night.
