WWE Raw results, recap, grades: Nia Jax lays out Liv Morgan to cut tag team main event short
Morgan was teaming with Raquel Rodriguez against Rhea Ripley and Tiffany Stratton before Jax arrived
The build to WWE Crown Jewel is in full swing, as evidenced by Raw's primary focus on Monday night being on the two top matches set for Saudi Arabia. The night ended with WWE women's champion Nia Jax arriving to spoil women's world champion Liv Morgan's night.
Morgan was teaming with Raquel Rodriguez against Rhea Ripley and Tiffany Stratton in the main event when Jax ran in to cut the match short. In the end, Jax laid out Morgan and nearly cost her her title before Dominik Mysterio was able to make the save before Stratton could cash in her Money in the Bank contract.
CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from Ford Center, Evansville, Indiana.
Nia Jax lays out Liv Morgan to cut main event short
Rhea Ripley opened the show with a promo targeting Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez before she was interrupted by Tiffany Stratton. Stratton warned Ripley to stay out of Nia Jax's way when Jax faces Morgan at Crown Jewel. As the pair argued, they were jumped from behind by Morgan and Rodriguez, who left Ripley and Stratton laid out. Ripley demanded a match against Morgan and Rodriguez, but Adam Pearce said that she would need a tag partner. At that point, Stratton entered the frame and the match was made.
Rhea Ripley & Tiffany Stratton vs. Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez ended when Nia Jax ran in. As Ripley was brawling with Rodriguez outside the ring, Jax ran in and hit both women from behind. A brawl continued in the ring until Jax dropped Morgan with a Samoan drop and a leg drop. Jax then told Stratton to cash in her Money in the Bank contract, but Dominik Mysterio pulled Morgan from the ring and carried her off to end the show.
Monday night felt like a very minor effort on WWE's part. Building to ultimately meaningless matches at Crown Jewel isn't making things easy on the promotion and Raw suffered because of that. The main event was nothing of consequence and the finish was predictable. Grade: C
