Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan agree to terms for a fight in April
After a less-than-enthusiastic response to his opponent, Pacquiao has found a replacement
Manny Pacquiao is here to make money. The veteran boxer has been preparing to make a title defense against little-known Jeff Horn on April 23, but when the reaction to the booking wasn’t great, many speculated Pacquiao would break off that fight for another opponent.
It didn’t take long for him to find one either.
Enter Amir Khan, the former light welterweight champion who is coming off a devastating knockout defeat at the hands of Canelo Alvarez last summer. Pacquiao and Khan appear to have come to an agreement on the bout but still need a location and venue.
Negotiations between team Pacquiao and team Khan have come to terms for the April 23 bout as this is what the fans wanted. #PacquiaoKhan

Changes in fights happen all the time, but changing the opponent after just one month simply because fans seemed disinterested is a bit odd by Pacquiao.
Khan (31-4) hasn’t fought since getting floored by Alvarez. He was in discussions with former champ Kell Brook to set up a bout overseas before Pacquiao entered the picture.
The Filipino boxer is coming off two consecutive unanimous decision victories over Timothy Bradley in April and Jessie Vargas in November.
