Eric Musselman met with California officials twice in recent days, but is now in the process of finalizing a new deal to remain at Nevada, a source told CBS Sports.
Cal is searching for a replacement for Cuonzo Martin, who left last week to take the job at Missouri. Musselman just led Nevada to a 28-7 mark in his second season -- plus the Mountain West regular-season and conference tournament titles. The Wolf Pack made the NCAA Tournament and lost to Iowa State 84-73 in the first round. Five of Musselman’s top seven scorers could return next season, including Cameron Oliver. The sophomore forward averaged 16 points and 8.7 rebounds this season.
Musselman previously coached in the NBA.
