Oklahoma State point guard Jawun Evans will enter the NBA Draft and sign with an agent, forfeiting his right to pull his name out during the early withdrawal stage, according to a report from The Undefeated.
Just after OSU’s first round loss to Michigan on Friday afternoon, Evans told The Oklahoman that he was leaning toward returning to play his junior year in Stillwater.
But a day later his coach, Brad Underwood, became his former coach. Underwood agreed to become the next coach at Illinois, and the rest might be history. Whether Underwood’s decision to coach elsewhere played a factor in this decision is unknown, but Evans would have been playing under his third coach in three years if he stayed. And his stock is relatively high as it is.
Evans averaged 19.2 points and 6.4 rebounds during his sophomore campaign in Stillwater, and was named to the All-Big 12 first team. Draft Express projects him as an early second-round pick.
