Derek Stingley Jr. HOU CB
Texans' Derek Stingley: Leaning toward playing Week 16
4h agoStingley (oblique), who is officially questionable to suit up against the Raiders on Sunday, is planning to play, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Stingley hurt his oblique last Sunday against Arizona and missed the Texans' first two practices this week. However, he logged a limited session Friday, which appears to be enough for him to take the field versus Las Vegas. Still, Stingley's status seems unlikely to be certain until Houston releases its list of inactives approximately 90 minutes prior to the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

Woody Marks HOU RB
Texans' Woody Marks: Planning to play Sunday
4h agoMarks, who is officially questionable for Sunday's Week 16 matchup against the Raiders due to an ankle injury, is planning to suit up, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Marks didn't finish last Sunday's win over Arizona after hurting his ankle early in the second quarter. He didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday this week but got in a limited session Friday to give himself a chance of playing Sunday. It sounds like Marks is going to try to take the field, though his final status probably won't be shared until the Texans release their list of inactives about 90 minutes prior to the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. Should Marks need to sit out, Houston's backfield work could be split between veteran tailback Nick Chubb (ribs) and rookie Jawhar Jordan.

Azeez Al-Shaair HOU LB
Texans' Azeez Al-Shaair: Looking likely to play Week 16
4h agoAl-Shaair (ankle/knee), who is officially questionable for Sunday's game against Las Vegas, is trending toward playing, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Al-Shaair is likely to be a game-time decision, per Wilson, but the current expectation is that he'll be able to suit up. The veteran linebacker managed just a DNP/LP/DNP practice progression this week, so chances are he'll be less than 100 percent even if he does get clearance to play. Al-Shaair hasn't missed a game this season and has logged every Texans defensive snap in 10 of the team's 14 contests to date.
-
Kyle Hamilton BAL SAF
Ravens' Kyle Hamilton: Trending toward suiting up Sunday
4h agoHamilton, who is officially questionable for Sunday's Week 16 game versus New England due to an ankle injury, is "more likely to play than not," Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Hamilton appears to have hurt his ankle during practice, as he wasn't on the injury report Wednesday or Thursday before popping up as a limited participant Friday. He was subsequently deemed questionable to play Sunday, though it sounds like he'll be able to take the field. With that said, Rapoport notes that Hamilton's status "is not yet settled" and suggests that the safety will test out the ankle during pregame workouts, so his status probably won't be certain until the Ravens release their list of inactives approximately 90 minutes prior to the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff.

John FitzPatrick GB TE
Packers' John FitzPatrick: Exits locker room in walking boot
4h agoFitzPatrick, who injured his Achilles during an overtime loss to Chicago on Sunday, exited the locker room with a walking boot on his right foot after the game, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.
Achilles injuries tend to be more than minor, especially when they're the non-contact variety, as FitzPatrick's was. It's certainly not a good sign for FitzPatrick's availability moving forward that he left in a walking boot after Saturday's loss, though an official diagnosis may not be announced until after he undergoes further evaluation. Packers coach Matt LaFleur seemed to be resigned to having to look for another tight end to fill FitzPatrick's void for at least the short-term future, saying postgame, "I'm sure we have guys capable on our practice squad. We'll take a look at that and come up with a solution," per Zach Jacobson of 247Sports.com.

Colston Loveland CHI TE
Bears' Colston Loveland: Quiet showing against Packers
4h agoLoveland recorded three receptions on four targets for 30 yards in Saturday's 22-16 overtime win over the Packers.
Loveland was expected to take on an even larger role in Chicago's offense due to both Luther Burden (ankle) and Rome Odunze (foot) being sidelined. However, he instead tied for third on the team in targets and finished fourth in yardage. While it was a modest showing, Loveland did manage a pair of key catches on Chicago's game-tying drive late in the third quarter. Loveland should maintain a key role in the offense and have the chance to bounce back in Week 17 against the 49ers.

Justin Bruihl CLE RP
Guardians' Justin Bruihl: DFA'd by Cleveland
4h agoThe Guardians designated Bruihl for assignment Saturday.
Cleveland just acquired Bruihl from Toronto in exchange for cash considerations Wednesday, but it appears the Guardians no longer see the southpaw as part of the team's big-league bullpen after they signed fellow reliever Shawn Armstrong on Thursday. Bruihl may have to settle for a minor-league deal eventually, as he holds a career 4.72 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with a 69:32 K:BB over 89.2 innings across 94 games spanning parts of five campaigns.
-
Paul Blackburn NYY RP
Yankees' Paul Blackburn: Back with Yankees on one-year deal
5h agoThe Yankees signed Blackburn to a one-year, $2 million contract Saturday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Blackburn began last season with the Mets but was released in mid-August. He was subsequently signed by the Yankees, with whom he made eight appearances out of the bullpen, posting a 5.28 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB over 15.1 innings. While those numbers aren't impressive, the bulk of the damage against him came in his team debut, when he gave up seven runs over 3.1 frames against Boston. Over his remaining seven appearances, Blackburn was much more effective, yielding just three runs (two earned) while posting a 14:2 K:BB across 12 innings. The veteran right-hander will likely work as a middle- and long-relief option next season with New York and also gives the team rotation depth given his history of working as a big-league starter.
-
Justyn-Henry Malloy DET 3B
Tigers' Justyn-Henry Malloy: Designated for assignment
10h agoMalloy was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Saturday.
The Tigers needed to make room on the 40-man roster for recent re-signee Kyle Finnegan, and Malloy has ended up being the cut. Malloy has struggled during his time in the majors so far, posting a .656 OPS with nine home runs, 38 RBI, 33 runs and one stolen base over 123 games spanning 357 plate appearances. He's also posted a 32.8 percent strikeout rate, though he has shown an ability to take a free pass with a 12.0 percent walk rate. That and his moderate power could make him a target for other MLB clubs.
-
Stuart Fairchild TB RF
Guardians' Stuart Fairchild: Gets NRI from Cleveland
14h agoFairchild signed a minor-league contract with the Guardians on Saturday and received an invitation to spring training.
Finger and oblique injuries kept Fairchild on the sidelines for the majority of the 2025 season, and he posted just a .606 OPS over 55 plate appearances with Atlanta when healthy. The 29-year-old outfielder will have a chance to win a job on Cleveland's bench during spring training, but he's likely destined to spend most of the upcoming season at Triple-A Columbus.
-
Wade Meckler SF CF
Giants' Wade Meckler: Designated for assignment
1d agoThe Giants designated Meckler for assignment Friday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
With Adrian Houser's signing becoming official Friday, Meckler will end up as the roster casualty necessary to make room on San Francisco's 40-man roster. The 25-year-old outfielder slashed .287/.390/.370 across 401 plate appearances at Triple-A Sacramento this past season, but he hasn't appeared in an MLB game since 2023. His ability to play across the outfield and at second base will help his chances of being claimed by another club. However, his chances of contributing in the majors are slim.
-
Marco Luciano PIT LF
Pirates' Marco Luciano: DFA'd by Bucs
1d agoThe Pirates designated Luciano for assignment Friday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
Just two weeks after being claimed from San Francisco, Luciano will once again enter the waiver process following Pittsburgh's acquisitions of Brandon Lowe, Jake Mangum and Mason Montgomery on Friday. The 24-year-old Luciano -- once considered a top prospect in baseball -- could still be an attractive waiver target for other clubs despite his career .590 OPS in the big leagues.

Pat Spencer GS PG
Warriors' Pat Spencer: Limited again Saturday
22m agoSpencer ended with four points (1-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal in 10 minutes during Saturday's 119-116 win over Phoenix.
Spencer returned from a one-game absence, logging just 10 minutes. Despite some promising performances thus far this season, Spencer is simply another in a long line of guards that head coach Steve Kerr has to choose from. His role is worth keeping an eye on, but until we get some clarity regarding the nightly rotation, Spencer can be avoied in all standard formats.
-
Gui Santos GS SF
Warriors' Gui Santos: Limited again in win
24m agoSantos finished with five points (2-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt), three rebounds and two steals over seven minutes during Saturday's 119-116 win over Phoenix.
Santos played fewer than 10 minutes for the third time in the past four games, another in a string of unpredictable performances. Steve Kerr is arguably the worst coach when it comes to fantasy, with his nightly rotation a mystery, perhaps even for the players. At this stage, there is no reason to consider Santos, even in deeper formats.
-
Will Richard GS PG
Warriors' Will Richard: Pops for 20 points in win
26m agoRichard chipped in 20 points (6-7 FG, 4-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and five rebounds in 19 minutes during Saturday's 119-116 win over the Suns.
Richard scored at least 20 points for just the second time in his career, fresh off three consecutive DNP-CD's. While this was an encouraging performance by the rookie, projecting him to do this again feels like fool's gold. The backcourt rotation in Golden State seemingly changes on a nightly basis, and for fantasy purposes, avoiding it altogether feels like a smart move.
-
Jamaree Bouyea PHO PG
Suns' Jamaree Bouyea: Blocks two shots Saturday
31m agoBouyea logged five points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal over 16 minutes during Saturday's 119-116 loss to the Warriors.
Bouyea played no more than 20 minutes for the fifth time in the past six games, continuing a season that has failed to reach any great heights. In 12 appearances, Bouyea has averaged just 7.0 points in 14.3 minutes per game, meaning fantasy managers need not spend too much time dissecting his box scores.
-
Ryan Dunn PHO SG
Suns' Ryan Dunn: Modest production in loss
33m agoDunn supplied seven points (2-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal over 20 minutes during Saturday's 119-116 loss to Golden State.
Dunn continues to provide very little outside of defensive stats, scoring single digits for the ninth straight game. During that time, he has averaged just 4.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 19.7 minutes per game. At this stage, he should be viewed as nothing more than a defensive streaming option.
-
Mark Williams PHO C
Suns' Mark Williams: Rough night again Saturday
36m agoWilliams accumulated four points (2-3 FG), five rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 18 minutes during Saturday's 119-116 loss to Golden State.
Williams was poor for the third time in the past four games, a worrying trend for those invested in the big man. While the lack of production has been frustrating, at least it correlates with his playing time, providing managers with a workable sample size. At this stage, the hope is that he can figure things out, starting with Tuesday's matchup against the Lakers.
-
Jack Finley TB C
Lightning's Jack Finley: Scores in return from loan
1h agoFinley scored a goal on two shots, added four PIM and went plus-2 in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Hurricanes.
Finley spent a week in the AHL on a conditioning loan, and he scored upon his return to the lineup. The 23-year-old has mainly filled a fourth-line role when in action this season, and he's not a full-time option for the Lightning. He's produced two goals, one assist, 10 shots on net, 19 hits, 10 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 12 appearances. Finley could have a chance to play more regularly while Brandon Hagel (upper body) is out, but Curtis Douglas and Jakob Pelletier are also in the mix for minutes.
-
Gage Goncalves TB C
Lightning's Gage Goncalves: Tucks goal in win
1h agoGoncalves scored a goal in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Hurricanes.
Goncalves had been a healthy scratch for four games recently, and this was his second contest back in the lineup. The 24-year-old is stuck in a bottom-six role, so he shouldn't be expected to score a lot. He's up to three goals, eight points, 22 shots on net, 35 hits, 23 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 31 appearances this season.
-
Jesperi Kotkaniemi CAR C
Hurricanes' Jesperi Kotkaniemi: Puts up assist
2h agoKotkaniemi registered an assist and four PIM in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Lightning.
Kotkaniemi had been held off the scoresheet in his last six outings, and he missed 14 games between an ankle injury, a lower-body issue and time as a healthy scratch during that span. The 25-year-old has mostly played on the fourth line when in the lineup this year, offering little appeal in fantasy. He's at six points, 20 shots on net, 30 hits and a plus-2 rating through 19 appearances.
-
Mark Jankowski CAR C
Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Draws assist Saturday
2h agoJankowski recorded an assist and two PIM in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Lightning.
Jankowski went eight games without a point, and he was scratched twice in that span. The 31-year-old likely won't be in the lineup when the Hurricanes are fully healthy, but he has some time to play now that Seth Jarvis (upper body) is on injured reserve. For the season, Jankowski has five points, 22 shots on net, 16 hits, 12 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 24 outings as a defensive specialist in a bottom-six role.
-
Michael McCarron NSH RW
Predators' Michael McCarron: Helps out on empty netter
2h agoMcCarron notched an assist in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Maple Leafs.
McCarron ended a nine-game slump with the helper. That span also includes one absence due to a lower-body injury. The fourth-line forward has six points, 39 shots on net, 92 hits, 31 blocked shots, 36 PIM and a minus-8 rating through 33 appearances this season. McCarron offers plenty of grit and decent defensive skills, but he doesn't score enough to help in most fantasy formats.
-
Cole Smith NSH LW
Predators' Cole Smith: Deposits empty-netter
2h agoSmith scored an empty-net goal, doled out seven hits and added two PIM in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Maple Leafs.
This was Smith's fourth goal of the season, and his first point in two games since he returned from a six-week absence due to an upper-body injury. The 30-year-old figures to play a bottom-six role and see time on the penalty kill now that he's healthy. He's added 20 shots on net, 46 hits and 10 PIM over 15 appearances this season.
