McKirahan (elbow) has a torn UCL and will likely undergo a second Tommy John surgery, Kevin McAlpin of the Braves Radio Network reports.
This is pretty much a worst-case scenario for McKirahan, as a second round of Tommy John surgery is infamously difficult to come back from. He'll have to sit out for roughly a year, and will then need to show he still has enough velocity and stuff to stay at the top level. The 26-year-old didn't exactly impress in 2015, receiving a PED suspension and registering a 5.93 ERA in 27.1 innings, so a comeback is a pretty tall order.
