Diamondbacks' Adam Loewen: Designated for assignment

Loewen was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Monday.

Loewen pitched well outside of a couple blowups, but Sunday's outing -- five runs over just a third of an inning -- was enough for his run in the Diamondbacks' bullpen to end. If he clears waivers, Loewen could end up either in the minors or a free agent.
