Panthers' Greg Olsen: Confirms that he avoided serious injury

Olsen (knee) confirmed that he avoided a serious injury, also suggesting that he's optimistic about his chances of playing in Sunday's game against the Giants, ESPN.com reports.

Olsen was careful not to make any guarantees, but he did say that the injury isn't nearly as severe as it first appeared during Sunday's game. The Panthers aren't going to take any huge risks at this point in the season, but they do still have plenty left to play for -- namely the NFC's top-seed and a 16-0 campaign. Another update will be available when Wednesday's injury report is released.
