Fitzpatrick and the Jets are not close on a new contract, Newsday reports.

Fitzpatrick is reportedly looking for a deal north of $16 million per season, while the Jets are potentially offering half that amount, which is why the stalemate continues. The Jets brought in Robert Griffin this past week, though he left without a contract offer. The Broncos were also potentially interested in Fitzpatrick, though the addition of Mark Sanchez may have killed that possibility. Fitzpatrick's fantasy potential for 2016 obviously hinges greatly on where he ends up, and he'll find it tough to end up on a team with better wideouts than what the Jets offer in Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker, or the Broncos with Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.
