Titans general manager Jon Robinson would like to keep Mettenberger (forearm) in Tennessee this coming season, despite the offseason acquisition of veteran free-agent Matt Cassel, the Nashville Post reports.

Quarterback depth isn't easy to come by in the NFL, and Robinson would prefer to keep his options open behind starter Marcus Mariota rather than deal Mettenberger to a quarterback-needy destination. Mettenberger saw meaningful action in six games last season, but the 24-year-old will have to beat out Cassel and hope for an injury to Mariota in order to have a realistic chance of contributing for the Titans in 2016.
