WATCH: Believe it or not, Yunel Escobar was ejected for drawing on the infield dirt
Escobar ended the first half with a piece of art
Behold, the oddest ejection of the season.
Angels third baseman Yunel Escobar is accustomed to finding himself in peculiar situations. On Sunday, he set a new personal-best in oddball behavior by getting tossed for drawing in the infield -- yeah, seriously. Escobar was peeved by a questionable check-swing call when he reacted the way most normal adults do: by sketching a mocking image at his workstation.
Home-plate umpire Tim Timmons noticed Escobar partaking in arts and crafts time, and went and ahead and sent Escobar back to the clubhouse, where he could doodle all he pleased. Just what did Escobar draw, you might ask? Home plate (hat tip to For The Win):

After the game, Escobar continued to handle the situation with the utmost maturity:
Yunel Escobar declined to speak to reporters after today's loss. "F*** that s***," he said when asked to answer questions.

At this point, Escobar would be wise to abstain from fulfilling his artistic impulses on the field, because nothing good seems to come from indulging them. Nothing.
