On Monday night, Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner hit a pair of solo homers off Rangers ace Yu Darvish (TEX 4, NYY 2). Gardner's efforts raised his career slash line against Darvish to .455/.500/1.545 (!). That's ownership, albeit across a miniscule sample of 12 plate appearances.
Regarding Gardner's short-run success against the otherwise excellent right-hander, here's what Darvish had to say:
