Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Between pipes Friday
Askarov will defend the visiting net in Dallas on Friday, per Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now.
Askarov was sensational in November, going 8-2-0 with a 1.88 GAA and a .944 save percentage but he had his problems Wednesday, giving up four goals on 12 shots before he was replaced late in the opening period. He is 10-7-1 with a 3.15 GAA and a .903 save percentage across 18 appearances this season. The Stars are fifth in NHL scoring, averaging 3.43 goals per game.

Sharks' Teddy Mutryn: Earns three points Thursday
Mutryn scored a goal and added two assists in QMJHL Moncton's 7-4 win over Saint John on Thursday.
This was Mutryn's first multi-point effort since the Wildcats' last game versus the Sea Dogs. He had two goals over four contests in between those bursts of offense. For the year, the Sharks prospect has 12 goals, 27 points, 70 shots and a plus-15 rating over 22 appearances.

Sharks' Jeff Skinner: Returning against Stars
Skinner (lower body) will be activated off injured reserve ahead of Friday's clash with Dallas, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.
Skinner will be in action for the first time since Nov. 13 versus Calgary, a stretch of 10 games on injured reserve due to his lower-body problem. The veteran winger has tallied just one goal in his last 13 outings and may be hard-pressed to reach the 20-goal threshold for the second straight year.

Sharks' Pavol Regenda: Sent to AHL
Regenda was loaned to AHL San Jose on Thursday.
Regenda was recalled by the Sharks on Monday and scored power-play goals in both of his appearances this week. Regenda had three goals and seven points in 19 AHL games before being recalled.

Sharks' Pavol Regenda: Tallies on power play
Regenda scored a power-play goal and went minus-2 in Wednesday's 7-1 loss to the Capitals.
While no Sharks players looked good in this game, Regenda's net-front abilities paid off in a goal at 12:58 of the third period to break up Charlie Lindgren's shutout bid. That's two goals in as many games since Regenda was called up from AHL San Jose, and he's added four shots on net, three hits and a minus-2 rating while playing on the fourth line and second power-play unit. The 25-year-old will need to remain productive to avoid heading back to the AHL -- making a good showing in his first 10 appearances could convince the Sharks that they don't want to risk losing him on waivers.

Sharks' Alex Nedeljkovic: Not great in relief outing
Nedeljkovic stopped 15 of 18 shots in relief of Yaroslav Askarov in Wednesday's 7-1 loss to the Capitals.
The Capitals didn't take it easy on Nedeljkovic, who was a little better than Askarov. This appearance didn't lead to a decision for Nedeljkovic, who remains at 3-5-2 through 12 appearances. The 29-year-old goalie has added a 3.19 GAA and an .893 save percentage this season, which has seen him settle into a backup role. The Sharks are setting out on a five-game road trip that begins Friday in Dallas, but without a back-to-back set during their travels, it's unclear when Nedeljkovic might next get into a game.

Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Pulled before first intermission
Askarov gave up four goals on 12 shots before he was replaced by Alex Nedeljkovic in the first period of Wednesday's 7-1 loss to the Capitals.
It's the second time in four outings that Askarov has received an early hook. Brandon Duhaime's shorthanded tally was the final goal Askarov gave up in Wednesday's outing. He still ended up with the loss, falling to 10-7-1 with a 3.15 GAA and a .905 save percentage through 18 starts this season. After looking nearly invincible in early November, the 23-year-old netminder might be safer to use in favorable matchups in fantasy. He'll be a risky option if he gets the start Friday in Dallas as the Sharks begin a five-game road trip.

Sharks' Alexander Wennberg: Will avoid missing time
Wennberg (upper body) will be in the lineup versus the Capitals on Wednesday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Wennberg was labeled a game-time decision, but he'll avoid missing any game action after skipping Tuesday's practice. Wennberg will be alongside Adam Gaudette and William Eklund on the second line for Wednesday's contest.

Sharks' Michael Misa: On LTIR, starting conditioning stint
Misa (lower body) has been moved from regular IR to long-term injured reserve and loaned to AHL San Jose for a conditioning stint, the team announced Wednesday.
Misa has a goal and three points in seven appearances this season. He hasn't played since Nov. 1 because of the injury. Heading to the minors will be a good chance for Misa to shake off the rust and log big minutes as he continues his development.

Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Set to start Wednesday
Askarov is expected to start at home against Washington on Wednesday, per Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News.
Askarov has won five of his past six outings while allowing 15 goals on 182 shots (.918 save percentage). The 23-year-old netminder has a 10-6-1 record, 2.96 GAA and .908 save percentage in 17 appearances. While he's shown a lot of potential recently, he'll be facing the red-hot Capitals, who have won eight of their past nine games to elevate their season record to 16-9-2.

Sharks' Vincent Desharnais: Deemed week-to-week
Desharnais (upper body) is week-to-week, according to Max Miller of NHL.com on Tuesday.
Desharnais has missed the last three games, and the Sharks moved him to injured reserve before Monday's 6-3 win over Utah. He has generated two assists, 12 shots on goal, 34 blocked shots and 28 hits across 20 appearances this season.

Sharks' Alexander Wennberg: Game-time call for Wednesday
Wennberg (upper body) will be a game-time decision against Washington on Wednesday, per Max Miller of NHL.com.
Wennberg's availability for Wednesday's contest is unclear after he missed Tuesday's practice. He has produced five goals, 13 points, 30 shots on net and 32 blocked shots in 27 appearances this season. Wennberg could be replaced in Wednesday's lineup by Zack Ostapchuk if Jeff Skinner (lower body) and Michael Misa (lower body) remain unavailable.

Sharks' Pavol Regenda: Scores in team debut
Regenda scored a goal on three shots and added two hits in Monday's 6-3 win over the Mammoth.
Regenda was acquired from the Ducks back in January, and he made his Sharks debut Monday after signing a two-way deal in July. He saw 12:32 of ice time in a fourth-line role, though the goal could help him get a longer look over Zack Ostapchuk. Regenda had just seven points in 19 games for AHL San Jose prior to the call-up, and it's unclear if he'll be able to stick around with the big club for a large portion of the season.

Sharks' Adam Gaudette: Pots goal in win
Gaudette scored a goal on four shots in Monday's 6-3 win over the Mammoth.
Gaudette was a game-time decision due to an illness, but he suited up and saw 14:12 of ice time in a second-line role. The 29-year-old has earned the bump up with a point in three straight outings. He's at seven goals, two assists, 35 shots on net, 21 hits, 12 PIM and a minus-4 rating over 23 appearances, but he's capable of putting together some strong stretches on offense.

Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: Contributes three helpers
Celebrini produced three assists and went plus-3 in Monday's 6-3 win over the Mammoth.
Celebrini has had plenty of starring moments in his breakout year, but he shared the spotlight with linemates Tyler Toffoli and Will Smith as the trio combined for four goals and 10 points Monday. Celebrini has gone four games without a goal, but he's picked up six helpers over his last three outings. The 19-year-old is up to 40 points (14 goals, 26 helpers) with 75 shots on net and a plus-6 rating in 27 appearances. Only Nathan MacKinnon (44) has more points this season.

Sharks' Will Smith: Racks up three points in win
Smith scored twice on five shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Monday's 6-3 win over the Mammoth.
Smith earned all three points at even strength, and his first goal was the game-winner. He's picked up the pace lately with five goals and a helper over his last three outings. For the season, the 20-year-old is up to 12 goals, 15 helpers, 69 shots on net and a plus-4 rating across 27 appearances, mainly in a top-line role.

Sharks' Tyler Toffoli: Two of each Monday
Toffoli scored twice on five shots, added two assists and went plus-3 in Monday's 6-3 win over the Mammoth.
Toffoli was on a warming trend with three helpers over his previous four games before busting out for his first multi-point effort since Nov. 5 versus the Kraken. The 33-year-old netted both goals in the first period and helped out on a pair of Will Smith tallies in the second. Toffoli is up to seven goals, 18 points, 55 shots on net, 19 hits, 14 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 27 appearances while serving as a steady veteran in the Sharks' top six to complement the team's young talent.
