What to Know

Get ready for a Big East battle as the #11 Providence Friars and the Xavier Musketeers will face off at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday at Dunkin' Donuts Center. Providence will be strutting in after a victory while Xavier will be stumbling in from a loss.

The Friars escaped with a win on Sunday against the Butler Bulldogs by the margin of a single free throw, 71-70. Providence can attribute much of their success to center Nate Watson, who had 22 points, and forward Noah Horchler, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds in addition to three blocks.

Meanwhile, Xavier received a tough blow this past Saturday as they fell 72-61 to the Connecticut Huskies. A silver lining for Xavier was the play of guard Colby Jones, who had 11 points along with five boards.

Barring any buzzer beaters, Providence is expected to win a tight contest. Now might not be the best time to take the Friars against the spread since they've let down bettors for the past three consecutive games.

Providence came out on top in a nail-biter against Xavier in the teams' previous meeting in January, sneaking past 65-62. Will Providence repeat their success, or does Xavier have a better game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
